The Morton Arboretum is seeking a dedicated and professional Building Monitor to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring building security, assisting visitors and staff, and ensuring that Arboretum policies are upheld. Position Summary:Responsible for monitoring the building to which assigned, in terms of security, and customer service to visitors and guests. Perform a variety of tasks including security and safety operations, enforcement of Arboretum policies, and general assistance to staff and visitors. Essential Functions:
Qualifications:Previous public contact work experience desired. Ability to communicate well with the general public and exceptional customer service skills required. Must present professional image to the public by following the Security dress code. Must become certified and maintain certification in First Aid and CPR (classes provided). Success Factors: Ability to be polite, informative, and helpful towards visitors. Ability to exercise sound judgment in dealing with the visiting public. Ability to remain calm and act according to guidelines in the event of an emergency, either fire, medical, or weather related. The hiring rate for this position is $20.00/hour. This position is also eligible for a competitive benefits package.
