Job Summary

The Fabrication Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing equipment, machinery, and facilities under direct supervision. This role involves keeping various records, participating in special projects, and performing a range of technical tasks related to specific areas of responsibility. This position serves as the entry-level role in the Fabrication Maintenance Technician series.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

This position is responsible for performing routine tasks and duties, including conducting scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) as assigned by a supervisor. Key responsibilities include:

  • Inspecting, repairing, and maintaining mechanical equipment and machinery using a variety of tools.
  • Interpreting blueprints and technical drawings
  • Cutting and shaping metal pieces
  • Assembling and welding metal components
  • Inspecting fabricated components
  • Applying protective finishes
  • Understanding OSHA requirements relevant to daily activities.
  • Practicing safety awareness in all actions, including machine operation and lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Demonstrating strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Having general knowledge of both hand tools and power tools.
  • Reading and interpreting basic machine schematics with minimal guidance.
  • Maintaining a high level of organization and attention to detail.
  • Organizing parts and materials in their proper locations. Lifting, moving, pushing, pulling, carrying, and manipulating materials weighing up to 20 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Following directions effectively and demonstrating a willingness to learn.
  • Collaborating with other departments to ensure overall success.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Compensation & Benefit Information:

Hourly Pay Range: $26-$28 per hour dependent on experience*

*pay range may be adjusted depending on cost of living

Bonus/Incentive Pay:

Incentive pay may be available for certain job roles and may include piece rate incentives, weekly production bonuses, trip rates, and employee referral bonuses. A discretionary annual bonus based on Company and business unit performance may also be provided.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • 1-2 years of experience in the maintenance and repair of industrial equipment within a fabrication manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Structural Welding Expirience
  • Must possess a valid state driver's license.
  • Must be able to safely and effectively use various equipment, including hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, presses, cordless drills, clamps, and other small tools.
  • Willingness to learn how to properly use a variety of measuring instruments to achieve a high level of accuracy (up to 0.001") for diagnosing wear or damage in machine parts, such as digital and dial indicators, calipers, micrometers, levels, and angle and depth gauges.
  • Familiarity with related hand tools and troubleshooting equipment is desirable. Miscellaneous equipment. small tools
  • Willing to learn how to properly use a variety of measuring equipment to a high level of accuracy of 0.001" to diagnose wear or damage in machine parts, such as digital and dial indicators, calipers, micrometers, levels, angle and depth gages, etc.
  • Familiarity with related hand tools and troubleshooting equipment
