Job Summary
The instructor will conduct training and support services for all students and cadre assigned. JTAC will serve as the primary and assistant instructor for approved training, course curriculum and perform duties as simulated aircraft and air boss in training scenarios as required. JTAC will be required to perform instructions in a classroom and field environment. Instruction includes training and execution aboard fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft.
Role and Responsibilities
- Provide instruction to students on AFSPECWAR related Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTPs) to include but not limited to, Small Unit Tactics (SMUT), Control of military aircraft in support of combat operations. Control of Drop Zone (DZ) and Landing Zone (LZ) Operations during training iterations. Conduct instruction on Close Air Support for combat operations, teach capabilities and limitations of military aircraft, act as Drop Zone Controlling Officer and Drop Zone Safety Officer (DZCO/DZSO).
- Comply with Higher Headquarters (HHQ) guidance in planning, developing, maintaining, and safeguarding personnel and equipment while conducting compliant, efficient and safe training.
- Assist in syllabi and instructional courseware development and modification in accordance with Command directives.
- Conduct instructor duties in hazardous environments and conditions including instruction in and around military aircraft (i.e. rotary wing and fixed wing aircraft) during ground and flying operations, live fire operations on static ranges and dynamic realistic shooting environments during day and night. Instruction will also occur in the maritime environment on small boats and large merchant vessels.
- Assist in the process for maintaining accountability for instructional material and student reference products such as collections (e.g. the syllabi of instruction (SOI's), student critiques and end of course critiques, After Action Reports (AAR's), and consolidated inputs from other instructors into weekly Commanders Update Brief (CUB)).
- Provide AFSPECWAR specific classroom and field instruction on knowledge and performance objectives in support of advanced tactical training courses, and other unit training courses that pertain to the contractor's area of subject matter expertise.
- Perform Drop Zone Control Officer duties IAW USAF directives and regulations as required. Coordinate ranges, facilities, aircraft, aircraft loading, and equipment required to meet all tactical training objectives.
- Conduct support activities to support training requirements, including but not limited to operating safety boats, wing boats, advanced rescue crafts (ARC), and off-road tactical vehicles. Execute and provide instruction for support personnel on all support activities to include OPFOR, Medical Patients, MASCAL, equipment recovery, and safety swimmer. The Government will train the contractor on internal equipment and vehicle use.
- Support logistical support activities for the squadron including, but not limited to, transporting equipment and/or personnel to and from training locations in government provided vehicles with trailer attached. The contractor will also perform recovery and clean- up of equipment and facilities following training scenarios and end-of-week activities.
- Manage Android Tactical Assault Kit (ATAK) usage to all personnel assigned to the unit that utilize ATAK. Ensure all software on all equipment is up to date. Manage inventory on consumables and high-break items to ensure healthy bench stock for assigned equipment.
- May be required to represent the organization at the Special Warfare Assault Kit (SWAK) Advisory Group. Will perform actions and serve as the bridge between the Radio Frequency (RF) Shop and Imagery Analysts (AFSC 1N1) to appropriately load effective imagery onto ATAKs.
- Perform Unit JTAC Program Manager Function. Will perform all assigned duties and act at the Units JTAC Program Manager in accordance with AFMAN 10-3505v1.
- Be able to work in a sensitive environment.

Supervisory Responsibilities
Required Qualifications and Education
- Minimum 5 or more years as a qualified JTAC (SOF preferred) with overseas deployments
- Minimum 2 years as a JTAC instructor
- Must be a US Citizen
- Must have had an Honorable discharge from the military (if applicable)
- Keep and maintain SECRET security clearance
- Must have a current driver's license
- Must be able to pass a national level criminal / background check
- Must hold at least a High School Diploma
Preferred Qualifications and Education
- Minimum 10 or more years as a qualified JTAC (SOF Preferred) with overseas deployment
- MFF Jumpmaster desirable
- JTAC Instructor and/or Evaluator
- SUAS trained/experience

Physical Demands/Work Environment
Performance of role will include work in office, training and range environments. During the execution of courses, the work will be physically demanding. This will require the candidate to perform training operations which will require the individual to maintain a level of physical fitness that is commensurate with the typical special operator. The contractor must be able to sit, stand and walk carrying 75lbs of equipment for up to four hours duration. Additionally, the contractor must be able to lift 225lbs from the floor to waist height. The employee must also be able to handle class C explosives, munitions, hazardous materials, and corrosive fuels. Water operations are also expected, so candidates should have capability to operate in a maritime environment under stressful conditions.

- Hours: Full-time work week (Monday through Friday), occasional weekends as needed
