Gemini is looking for an experienced 1st-Shift Material Handler to join the team at our location in Cannon Falls, MN! The schedule for this position is 5/8 hour days from 7:00am - 3:30pm (Mon - Fri) with a 30 minute unpaid lunch. Overtime is scheduled as needed. The position is responsible for managing incoming coming and outgoing material loads and supplying materials across the site as required by production process.

A day in the life of a Material Handler at Gemini includes:

  • Operates forklift truck, or other material handling devices in the distribution of company products and materials.
  • Responsible for supporting five or more production facilities on one site.
  • Manages intercompany transfers on Olson truck by ensuring materials are sent to correct locations on the correct trucks.
  • Manages return intercompany transfers and ensures materials are housed or sent to correct locations.
  • Communicates with plants when requested truck list quantities are not able to be met to establish prioritized substitutions.
  • Utilizes inventory management system to ensure Harris is up to date.
  • Completes required documentation and updates receiving database on all material received.
  • Places received and inspected materials in appropriate bins, shelves, and storage locations, ensuring that materials are stored in a neat and orderly manner.
  • Makes computer entries pertaining to all shipping and receiving transactions.
  • Conducts daily inventory management of raw materials and provides such information to the Plant Manager and/or Purchasing.
  • Removes scrap from work locations and transports to appropriate recycling area.
  • Performs the duties of a Utility Operator as time allows and need dictates.
  • May perform light preventive maintenance on company transporting equipment and notifies Maintenance Lead of major mechanical repairs required.
  • Assists in locating stock that may be received for the production process.
  • Operates all equipment in a safe manner and always follows standard safety rules.
  • Always maintains a neat and orderly work area.
  • Maintains an atmosphere of cooperation with department employees and superiors.
  • All other duties as needed for the benefit of the group or organization. Skills and Abilities
  • Must complete powered industrial truck certifications and successfully pass performance tests.
  • Customer focused mindset with ability to work projects simultaneously.
  • Openness to flexibility to work in multiple areas depending on the company's need.
  • Above average skills in problem solving, troubleshooting and communication.

Qualifications - Education & Experience

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 2+ years forklift operation experience preferred.
