What you will accomplish as an Estimator I at TAPCO

The Estimator I will be responsible for accurately quoting TAPCO projects and bids while adhering with TAPCO's quote review process. They will maintain ongoing relationships with TAPCO's internal and external customers. This role requires technical knowledge of TAPCO's product offering to provide accurate quotes per bid specifications, plans and/or customer requests. This role will report to the Estimating Supervisor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Accurately handles sales and distributor quote requests by delivering pricing, accurate lead times, project summaries, product and/or system data sheets, system drawings and written specifications
  • Reviews bid documents and understands scope of work for bid identifying items within TAPCO's capability to quote
  • Responsible for quoting accuracy and pricing in adherence with TAPCO's quote review process
  • Working with sales team members to ensure smooth handoffs between the sales and estimating for the sales process to bid management and quoting
  • Work with sales to ask questions and get clarification where needed to ensure the completeness and accuracy of the bid
  • Provides product knowledge support to the sales team.

Required Experience and Knowledge/ Skills/Ability

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, RF Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in RF circuit and antenna design, test, and optimization.
  • Deep knowledge of RF fundamentals, including impedance matching, S-parameters, noise figure, and RF propagation.
  • Experience working with wireless standards (e.g., Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Zigbee, Sub-GHz, LoRa, ISM bands).
  • Proficiency in using RF design tools (e.g., ADS, CST, HFSS, Altium Designer, or similar).
  • Proficient in using RF lab equipment for testing and validation.
  • Experience designing PCBs with high-frequency considerations and mixed-signal integration.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
  • Working knowledge of regulatory and certification requirements (FCC, CE, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • College degree in relevant field preferred
  • Prior experience with project or bid pricing
  • Prior technical experience with intelligent transportation systems quoting
