JOB ANNOUNCEMENT Program Director (BOND) DEPARTMENT OF PLANNING & DEVELOPMENT Small Business Development Number of Positions: 1 (additional vacancies possible pending budget approval) Starting Salary: $89,112 New hires are paid the starting rate. Under the direction of the Bureau Lead, serves as a mid-level manager overseeing strategic planning, operations, communications, compliance, procurement, performance measures, and reporting for Bond projects. Manages staff and establishes policies and procedures in alignment with Bureau leadership. ESSENTIAL DUTIES * Manages and oversees the implementation of strategic planning and operational programs, including the Community Development Program, Community Wealth Building Initiative, Equitable Transit-Oriented Development (ETOD), Climate Infrastructure Fund, and Storefront Activation initiatives. * Supervises program staff, monitors performance, provides training, and evaluates supervisory personnel. * Establishes program objectives, quality standards, and performance metrics to ensure productivity aligns with established goals. * Manages budgets, contracts, grants, and administrative operations for assigned programs. * Serves as a liaison to other City departments, agencies, community partners, and the general public. * Represents the department in meetings and special task force initiatives to address public service and community development issues. * Manages and directs special projects and departmental initiatives. * Acts as a liaison with local governments, community-based organizations, and coalitions to promote and enhance departmental programs and services. * Oversee the development and distribution of outreach and marketing materials. * Analyzes operational procedures and recommends improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness. * Responds to public inquiries and addresses program-related concerns and complaints related to programs. * May oversee staff and the monitoring of delegate agencies supporting social or public service initiatives, ensuring effective service delivery, goal alignment, and compliance.

Location: City Hall 121 N LaSalle Street 10th Floor Days: Monday - Friday (occasional Saturday hours will be required) Hours: 8:30am - 4:30pm (occasional evening hours will be required) THIS POSITION IS EXEMPT FROM THE CAREER SERVICE Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education, Training, and Experience * Nine (9) years of experience in the planning, implementation or administration of social service, public health or public service programs, OR * Graduation from an accredited college with an Associate's degree in the Social Sciences, Business or Public Administration, Public Health or a directly related field, plus seven (7) years of experience in the planning, implementation or administration of social service, public health or public service programs, OR * Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in the Social Sciences, Business or Public Administration, Public Health or a directly related field, plus five (5) years of experience in the planning, implementation or administration of social service, public health or public service programs, OR * Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's degree or higher in the Social Sciences, Business or Public Administration, Public Health or a directly related field, plus four (4) years of experience in the planning, implementation or administration of social service, public health or public service programs SELECTION REQUIREMENTS This position requires applicants to complete an interview which will include a skills assessment and/or written exercise as part of the interview.
