Core Hours: Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm

Purpose and Scope

Oversee activities related to the procurement of goods and services for the company and manage supplier relationships to ensure a seamless supply chain and cost optimization. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to make strategic decisions and implement best practices within the procurement function. Directs, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the procurement function and compliance to company policies

Essential Duties & Responsibilities



  • Plan and implement activities related to the procurement of raw materials, components, supplies and equipment.
  • Manage relationships with suppliers to ensure a reliable and cost-effective supply chain
  • Monitor the performance of suppliers regarding delivery performance, price maintenance and overall performance.
  • Manage the activities of purchasing staff to accomplish company objectives.
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures for the operation of procurement activities and ensure all purchase transactions are completed per company procedures and policies.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their requirements and develop procurement plans accordingly.
  • Ensure standard costs are set appropriately.
  • Analyze inventory levels, demand forecasts and consumption patterns to optimize stock levels and reduce carrying costs.
  • Develop and maintain metrics to track the performance of the department and identify areas for improvement.
  • Provide data including, but not limited to, incoming receipts, in-bound freight and other pertinent purchasing data that impacts other department's ability to plan headcount and budget expenses.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities



  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of MRP (Material Requirement Planning)
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret MRP.
  • Strong knowledge and ability to implement innovative purchasing programs.
  • Knowledge of cGMP and ISO practices required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Skilled in effective organization and time management in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective skills in supplier negotiations.
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with Suppliers.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with people at all levels of the organization and external contacts.

Education & Experience



  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Six or more years of experience in purchasing.
  • Three or more years of supervisory experience.


Working Conditions



  • Working conditions are normal for an office environment.


Compensation and Benefits



  • Annual pay range $120,000 - $130,000 depending on experience
