- As an Electrical Designer, you will be working at a leading state of art manufacturing plant in Boise, Idaho. You will be instrumental in expanding and optimizing facility operations to meet growing production needs. This position offers a dynamic work environment where you'll collaborate closely with engineers, project coordinators, and construction trades. Your work will help translate innovative ideas into tangible designs, driving the operational excellence of the plant. Engaging in on-site work is a pivotal part of this role, where you'll be tasked with assessing existing field conditions and spearheading the implementation of new designs and systems. You'll leverage tools like AutoCAD, Revit and Navisworks to create detailed 2D/3D drawing packages that bring our visions to life. With a blend of hands-on fieldwork and meticulous design, this role provides a constantly evolving set of challenges and opportunities for professional growth.
Qualifications:
Here's what you'll need:
- Associate's degree (AA) in Computer Aided Drafting and Design or similar technical degree
- 4+ years of progressive CAD drafting/design experience of process systems
- 2+ years of Revit 3D modeling/design experience
Ideally, you'll also have:? ?
- Prior exposure to a manufacturing plant environment
- Prior exposure to a construction environment
- Hands-on experience with on-site punch list walks and coordination with various construction trades.
- Semiconductor, pharmaceutical or advanced facilities experience
- Knowledge of NFPA code and standards
Responsibilities:
- Regular site visits to verify existing field conditions and to ensure the alignment of the design implementation process with the project's Basis of Design (BOD) and specifications.
- Coordinating effectively with project engineers, project coordinators, engineering coordinators, construction trades, and other team members to ensure that the design reflects the project's objectives. Revit will include use of Navisworks simultaneously to prevent clashes with other disciplines
- Providing comprehensive 2D/3D drawing packages that are clear, accurate, and follow the site design standards.
- Creating detailed electrical plans including conduit routing, cable tray routing electrical panel schedules, and equipment layout.
- Drafting One-line Diagrams in AutoCAD showing the site and building power distribution, such as distribution gear, overcurrent protection, feeders, and loads.
- Participates in the development and/or improvement of new and existing products for design change, cost reductions, warranty improvements, and manufacturability. Assists with evaluation of vendors. Ability to conduct field walks and field verifications.
- Provide drawing and drafting support for details, vendor submittals, and perform engineering drafting, drawing review, drawing control, and related services required in the design of engineered systems.

Physical Requirements:
- Position requires field visits and walks at an active client site in various stages of construction. Applicant must be able to walk long distances, sit and stand for extended periods, bend, stoop, twist, crawl, climb ladders, work on catwalks, work in small spaces, lift and carry up to 25lbs.
