A BRIEF OVERVIEW

The Operational Excellence Senior Specialist independently develops and executes lean efforts throughout the facility, supporting teams to achieve higher levels of performance and improving productivity. They identify and implement innovative process improvements that positively impact profitable growth, zero defects, and delivery.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Execute and independently implement Lean Daily Management practices.
  • Serve as an interdepartmental liaison in problem investigation and solving, expediting the accurate and timely transfer of required information for assigned projects.
  • Coordinate and execute assigned projects, developing detailed plans to accomplish goals and integrating technical activities.
  • Confer with management, production, and sales staff to discuss project specifications and procedures for assigned initiatives.
  • Support the implementation of policies, standards, and procedures for continuous improvement activities.
  • Facilitate teams focused on equipment or process changes for improving manufacturing of products.
  • Confer with engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical support and information.
  • Act as a proponent for Operational Excellence, managing manufacturing improvement activities in an open, enthusiastic, and positive manner, to encourage participation and development of a culture of continuous improvement at various levels.
  • Identify, plan, and execute lean projects within the company, being mindful of H&S&E, cost benefits implications, and productivity impacts.
  • Facilitate Kaizen and Lean events as needed across the sites.
  • Review performance indicators (KPIs) for each area and identify projects to introduce improvements.
  • Support the appraisal of global technology developments/advances that may be implemented to reduce manufacturing costs and improve process/product quality.
  • Assist in the delivery of effective training and communication across and within departments with regards to Op Ex activities.
  • Generate project documentation and specifications for assigned projects.

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor (Preferred)

EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ Years of Lean Manufacturing Experience (Required)
  • 2+ Years of Engineering Experience (Required)
  • Experience in a FDA Regulated Environment (Preferred)
  • Experience in the Orthopedic Industry (Preferred)

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • Lean Six Sigma (Preferred)
