Job Title: Licensed RCDD Engineer Compensation: Rates are negotiable and will be based on experience, certifications, and project scope.
Location: Rosemount, MN (On-site at Data Center) Job Category: Data Center Technician / Engineer Employment Type: Full-Time About the Role: We are looking for a Licensed RCDD Engineer to join a high-impact team responsible for designing and maintaining the structured cabling infrastructure that powers a large-scale, enterprise-level data center. This is a hands-on, technically demanding role that requires deep expertise in structured cabling systems, a strong understanding of industry standards, and the ability to collaborate across disciplines. As an RCDD Engineer, you will be instrumental in ensuring that the physical layer of our network infrastructure is designed for performance, scalability, and long-term reliability. You'll work closely with architects, network engineers, and construction teams to bring infrastructure designs to life-translating technical drawings into real-world installations that support mission-critical operations. Key Responsibilities: * Structured Cabling Design: * Develop and implement structured cabling systems (fiber and copper) that meet or exceed TIA/EIA and BICSI standards. Ensure designs are scalable, efficient, and optimized for high-performance data center environments. * Technical Documentation & Drawings: * Create and maintain detailed technical drawings, schematics, and layout plans using tools like AutoCAD, Visio, and BIM. Ensure documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and supports long-term operational needs. * Cross-Functional Collaboration: * Work closely with architects, electrical engineers, IT teams, and external contractors to ensure seamless integration of cabling infrastructure into broader construction and technology projects. * Site Surveys & Assessments: * Conduct on-site evaluations to assess current infrastructure, identify capacity constraints, and plan for future expansion. * Project Oversight & Quality Assurance: * Oversee installation work to ensure it aligns with design specifications and industry standards. Provide technical guidance and perform quality checks throughout the project lifecycle. * Vendor & Contractor Management: * Coordinate with third-party vendors and contractors, ensuring compliance with project requirements, timelines, and quality expectations. * Compliance & Standards: * Ensure all work complies with applicable building codes, safety regulations, and BICSI best practices. Required Qualifications: * Active RCDD certification through BICSI (must be current and in good standing) * Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field (or equivalent hands-on experience) * Minimum of 5 years of experience in structured cabling design, preferably in data center or enterprise environments * Proficiency in AutoCAD, Visio, and other design/documentation platforms * Strong understanding of TIA/EIA, ANSI, and IEEE standards * Excellent communication, coordination, and project management skills * Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications Preferred Qualifications: * Experience working in hyperscale or enterprise-level data centers * Additional certifications such as DCDC (Data Center Design Consultant) or PMP * Familiarity with fiber optics, copper cabling, and wireless infrastructure * Experience with BIM, Revit, or other 3D modeling tools Why This Role Matters: This position plays a vital role in ensuring the physical infrastructure of our data center is built to support high-speed, high-availability operations. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
