Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

In this Facilities Support Specialist position, you will have an essential role in maintaining a safe, functional, and welcoming environment across our facilities. The ideal candidate will have experience performing a wide range of hands-on maintenance and custodial tasks, comfort with using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), and working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook.

This is a part-time position with the possibility of 16 to 24 hours per week. We have flexibility and are willing to discuss a variety of schedule options. Please note that a minimum of 20 hours per week would be required for benefit eligibility.

In this role, you will:



  • Identify and report safety hazards and maintenance issues promptly.
  • Perform custodial duties and general upkeep of facilities including but not limited to restocking inventory of supplies and materials, and reporting when running low; conducting basic non-electrical repairs (e.g., patching walls, painting, assembling furniture); and installing and mounting items such as TVs, whiteboards, and artwork.
  • Communicate effectively via Outlook, CMMS, and other tools to coordinate tasks and schedules and to receive, track, and complete work orders.
  • Set up and break down furniture, equipment, and office items for events, meetings, and office relocations as needed.
  • Support other facilities-related tasks as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Leadership

Provide visible leadership across the entire organization by engaging in organization-wide activities such as department meetings, all-staff meetings, and staff events.

To be successful in the role, you should:



  • Be a champion for inclusive priorities both internally and externally.
  • Have proven experience in facilities, maintenance, or a similar hands-on role.
  • Be familiar with CMMS platforms and Microsoft Outlook.
  • Be able to safely and efficiently lift, move, and handle heavy items.
  • Be a self-starter with strong prioritization and time management skills.
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Be capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Have flexible availability, including evenings or weekends as needed.

Experience and Skills

Education & Experience



  • High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational training or coursework in facilities maintenance or a related field is a plus.
  • 1+ years of experience in a facilities, custodial, or general maintenance role.
  • Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to manage work orders and maintenance tasks.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and basic computer skills for communication and task tracking.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform basic repairs, furniture assembly, and general upkeep tasks safely and efficiently.
  • Experience working in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities and a flexible schedule.


Salary:

This is an hourly role. The expected wage is $24+ per hour. It will be commensurate with qualifications and experience, while also placing an emphasis on internal equity.
