As part of the Columbia Records Video Sponsorships, the Manager is responsible for the pitching and securing of external partnership funding and support for Columbia's roster in relation to offsetting video and content production costs. This individual will sit within the video production team, working alongside creative directors and video commissioners to ensure external brand partnership funding is in play for varying projects.
What you'll do:
- Create, develop, and execute partnership opportunities to help offset video and content production costs.
- Find new and inventive ways to partner with external brands across Columbia's roster.
- Research and evaluate client needs, industry landscape, and market trends.
- Identify and analyze new and innovative exposure and revenue generating opportunities for artists.
- Work closely with product managers as well as artists and artist managers to effectively craft opportunities for external partners to integrate within existing Columbia campaigns.
- Work closely with the central Licensing team and Business Affairs department on the negotiation of deal terms as well as any contractual and clearance issues related to Columbia's catalog.
- Work closely with the Branding Agency team in New York and Los Angeles to research and secure potential opportunities.
- Work closely with the Marketing & Digital Marketing department on the planning and execution of online and mobile marketing plans and strategies, working to maximize the potential for licensing/partnership opportunities arising from those strategies.
- Plan and execute artist showcases/listening parties/events for retail/fashion/automotive/sports media partners to help promote relationships in support of Columbia's roster.
- Work directly with artist management to execute promotional ideas and address management concerns as they develop.
- Work directly with potential clients/partners to identify music that meets their needs.
- Develop pitch decks to promote our repertoire to potential partners.
Who you are:
- At least 3 years of licensing, strategic marketing or product/brand marketing experience in the entertainment industry.
- Passionate music fan with broad knowledge of music.
- Previous licensing or branding experience required.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
- Must be adept in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).
- Strong project management and problem solving skills.
- Must be highly organized and capable of developing and keeping to a project timeline.
- Successful candidate will possess a positive attitude, an eagerness to learn and a demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast paced work environment while juggling multiple tasks and priorities.
- Ability to work independently, and to take a given task from inception and see it through to completion.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external contacts.
- Bachelor's degree strongly preferred.
