Job Overview & Essential Functions
Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC is North America's largest Kenworth truck dealership group and leasing group. As MHC continues to grow, we have an opening for a Treasury Analyst.The Treasury Analyst is responsible for cash management and banking transactions for the Company. This includes supporting corporate and business unit treasury activities, interacting with multiple financial institutions, and providing analytical support for Finance department projects.
- Performs a key role on the Finance team managing a wide variety of services for the Company. This includes daily cash management, borrowing or investing decisions, new truck flooring/payment, used truck purchases, daily repetitive and non-repetitive wires, credit card management and reporting, bank activity review, and ACH filters/transactions.
- Helps manage financial asset collateral (loans, leases, and truck titles), monthly loan payment processes with multiple financial institutions in the company's portfolio, and monthly general ledger entries.
- Manages regular financing of our financial asset portfolio, by working directly with financial institutions and our executive team. Works to optimize the current relationships for the appropriate capital structure and borrowing capacity, while minimizing interest expense.
- Supports various treasury projects related to operations, including payment processes (checks, ACH, credit card, etc.), check guarantee program, systems, and bank/lender requests.
- Coordinates with bank cash management representatives and other related institutions as necessary to maximize cash transaction activities.
- Supports analysis and recommendations on investment options that comply with our investment policy, while considering current and future cash liquidity, availability, and needs. Executes the recordkeeping, calculations, and preparation of general ledger entries required for each investment purchased.
- Helps document Finance team processes, update work instructions and process flows for internal control reviews. Challenge current processes looking for improvement opportunities resulting in greater efficiency or cost reduction.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of finance, cash management, accounting, and systems.
- Accounting or Finance degree required with advanced degree and 1-3 years of professional experience preferred.
- Prefer experience and demonstrated success with Finance, Treasury, and Accounting, including process documentation, systems, financial reporting, reconciliations, and analysis.
- Microsoft Office (especially Excel, Word, and Outlook), database query, and AS400 computer skills.
- Must have excellent analytical, communication, organization, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Able to balance excellent accuracy and attention to detail with idea generation and other tasks.
