Job Description
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Build a branch sales culture in line with the corporate sales initiatives through training, coaching, mentoring of Market Managers, Service Excellence Managers and branch staff.
- Develop and plan in conjunction with Marketing and Senior Management, product promotions for various branches and markets within the district.
- Participate in various special projects and committees. These committees include: Compensation, Contest and Training Committee. Involvement could include ongoing meetings, projects and evaluation of programs.
- Guide Market Managers in supervising and leading the sales process within the branch channel through one on one coaching, team building strategies and group discussions.
- Ensure highest level of client service by exceeding client expectations and providing high value relationships.
- Manage the sales calling efforts of the branch staff using a structured process to improve appointment to call ratio, call planning and obtaining new business.
- Review and analyze weekly call planning and results. Accompany the Market Managers and Service Excellence Managers on sales calls and provide coaching for better results.
- Assist Market Managers and Service Excellence Managers in developing and maintaining centers of influence to increase quality referrals, building loan and deposit pipelines.
- Direct Market Managers in the growth of core deposits and generation of consumer and commercial loan referrals through expansion of existing relationships and development of new relationships through outside calling efforts.
- Develop and maintain a referral source for loans and deposits.
- Responsible for establishing branch objectives, goals and specific sales/service programs, as well as, action plans necessary to achieve them.
- Measure and appraise performance against job duties, objectives and goals. Ensure managers are meeting bank standards of performance.
- Provide leadership, guidance, direction, training, coaching and succession planning to associates in the division.
- Assist in the development of the Service Excellence Managers to become effective sales leaders.
- Participate in industry trade groups, business associations and charitable organizations to enhance company's image.
- Create and implement a market plan targeting specific segments of the community.
- Act as liaison with appropriate parties, both internal and external, to achieve growth and expansion. These areas include Wealth Management, Insurance, Title and Leasing, etc.
- Control expenses and maximize revenues.
- Prepare and discuss Market Managers' annual performance evaluations, as well as review all performance appraisals prepared for branch personnel, comment, make salary increase recommendations and communicate management recommendations.
- Recruit and hire branch staff; identify staff members with potential to advance and take necessary steps to best utilize everyone.
- Lead, mentor and develop multiple levels of people; partner with other LOBs such as Commercial, Mortgage, etc.
Requirements
Required Skills:
- Ability to prioritize, organize, and delegate and follow up on assignments.
- Ability to clearly verbalize and present information to customers, prospects, staff, etc.
- Ability to direct and guide staff and all related parties to accomplish objectives.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
- Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
- Must have good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Basic PC skills including Microsoft Word, Excel.
Required Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED and minimum of 7 years' experience in Branch Management / related managerial experience with heavy emphasis on business clientele.
- Demonstrated prior experience in business to business sales and sales management.
- Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- FIS/IBS (Integrated Banking Solutions) preferred.
