Pay Range DOE: $17.00 per hour

This position is eligible for Paid Sick and Safe Time (PSST) under the Healthy Families and Workplaces Act. All employees may also make pre-tax or post-tax (Roth) contributions to our retirement plan - must be 18 years of age to participate.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday DAY SHIFT with occasional weekends. (Schedule is based on client needs)

JOB SUMMARY:

The Janitor, Housekeeping - Commercial Contracts is responsible for maintaining clean, safe, and welcoming guest rooms and public areas. This role ensures every space meets the facilities' standards of hygiene and presentation while providing courteous service to guests.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:



  • Team collaboration is required.
  • Clean and disinfect guest rooms, bathrooms, corridors, lobbies, and other public areas.
  • Change bed linens, replace towels, and restock amenities (toiletries, drinking glasses, coffee station, etc.).
  • Vacuum carpets, dust furniture, polish fixtures, and remove marks/stains from walls and other surfaces.
  • Process laundry tasks such as sort, fold, restock linens and terry cloth items.
  • Remove trash from restrooms and other areas in and around the facility.
  • Inspect rooms for missing or damaged items and report maintenance needs immediately.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols (Goodwill, Client, and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)) for proper chemical use and waste disposal.
  • Adhere to Goodwill and Client's policy for handling lost-and-found items.
  • Respond promptly to guest requests for extra supplies, special cleaning, or room service items.
  • When required, additional floor maintenance may be required such as applying wax to coat floors and/or buff, strip, and top scrub floors.
  • When required, larger heavy furniture items may need to be moved.
  • Monitor building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours.
  • Contribute to a safe working environment for self, customers, and fellow employees.

Education:



  • A High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.



Experience:



  • Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience is preferred.



Other:



  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain consistent cleanliness standards.
  • Time management skills to complete assigned rooms within scheduled shifts.
  • Knowledge of cleaning supplies, equipment operation, and safety guidelines.
  • Good communication and customer-service orientation to interact courteously with guests and team members.
  • Must conduct self in a professional manner conducive to a product work environment.
  • Must demonstrate good judgment, responsibility, and initiative.
  • Must be able to work cooperatively, to organize work and make good decisions.
  • Must be a positive team member and work well in a team environment.
