Summary

The eDiscovery and Practice Support Technical Supervisor will have primary responsibility for delivery and maintenance of technical services and resources. They will assist the eDiscovery and Practice Support Client Service Manager and the Director of eDiscovery and Practice Support with client and attorney facing activity related to technology as needed. They will also oversee and/or conduct client data collection and forensics activities. The eDiscovery and Practice Support Technical Supervisor will also collaborate with the Manager and Director on team planning and data management initiatives. Additionally, the eDiscovery and Practice Support Technical Supervisor will collaborate with the Manager and Director on the evaluation and implementation of new software and technology platforms.

Required Education & Experience



  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 8 years legal technology experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of data collection and forensics experience.
  • Proficiency with Windows & Microsoft Office, Trial Director, Relativity and/or other comparable eDiscovery platforms.
  • Strong documentation skills with the ability to write clear and accurate documentation.
  • Strong technical skills with proficiency in Firm-supported software programs, including FileSite, Adobe, MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent client service skills.


Preferred Education & Experience



  • Law firm experience preferred.
  • Relativity Certified Administrator (RCA) preferred.
  • Advanced data analytics experience preferred.
  • Forensics certification preferred.


Essential Functions

  • Administration (80%)

    • Deliver excellent customer service to Firm attorneys and personnel.
    • Maintain confidential information.
    • Conduct and/or oversee forensic data collections and other forensics related projects.
    • Act as the first point of escalation for daily project and/or client service-related issues related to eDiscovery technology, forensics and collection.
    • Deliver and maintain technical services and resources, including Relativity.
    • Assist the Manager and Director with client and attorney facing activity related to technology.
    • Coordinate escalation of issues with our technology service providers.
    • Manage litigation support and e-discovery projects in coordination with legal teams and other stakeholders as needed.
    • Advise legal teams and stakeholders on litigation support/e-discovery best practices.
    • Prepare and manage data using industry-standard programs such as Relativity, among other tools as needed.
    • Advise on appropriate data collection methodologies.
    • Maintain limited consultant project responsibilities as needed.




  • General and Administrative (20%)

    • Take lead on internal team projects.
    • Update and maintain project management applications as required.
    • Manage vendors and advise legal teams and department management on technology updates and trends.
    • Participate in ongoing process improvement assessments and initiatives.
    • Collaborate with the Manager and Director on team planning and initiatives.
    • Coordinate data management initiatives.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
