Job Description

PURPOSE/GOALS

The Project Manager role is a key leadership role within the U.S. Windows group at Cornerstone Building Brands. This position is responsible for managing the day-to-day activities for new product development projects with the goal to successfully commercialize and launch new products and options to our customers. The Project manager is the main point of contact with cross-functional teams and stakeholders for their assigned projects. This role will facilitate all projects, through cross-functional teams, using the new product development process and obtain approvals through our stage/gate process.

The Project Manager will ensure that a project is completed on time and within budget; that the project's objectives are met and that resources are meeting their work performance criteria. The Project manager oversees the project to ensure the desired result is achieved, the most efficient resources are used, and all stakeholders are satisfied.

The ideal candidate will be most effective if they can:

- Lead cross-functional project teams to the successful delivery of the project scope items while building relationships based on effective communication

- Challenge the status quo to identify the most appropriate path to satisfy the interest of all stakeholders and team members

- Effectively navigate teams through ambiguous situations and provide leadership towards obtaining the appropriate details

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Primary focus on commercialization of large product redesigns and large equipment/facilities projects.

2. Manage the project process from initiation through closure, with minimal assistance, and ensure the team utilizes the appropriate tools to develop the product effectively, on-time, and of the highest quality.

3. Manage activities around developing scope, schedule and cost baselines.

4. Manage communications with stakeholders.

5. Track project progress and ensure all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and budget.

6. Work with functional managers to ensure resource availability and allocation.

7. Create and maintain all project framework documentation.

8. Develop proficiency in Project Management methodologies, employ best practices, and proactively assess risk management to manage changes in scope, schedule, and cost accordingly.

9. Perform lessons-learned for all projects and apply to project management process improvement.

10. Assist in developing/refining Corporate Project Management process.

11. Train others on the fundamentals of Project Management.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS

Education:

  • BS in Business, Management, Engineering, or related discipline required. Advanced degree preferred.

Experience:

  • 3 plus years leading cross-functional projects ($1M+) required with preferred experience within the Building Material industry.
  • PMP Certification preferred.

Skills/Abilities:

Strong organizational skills required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required. Possess the ability to communicate at all levels of an organization. Strong leadership skills with working experience managing cross-functional teams. Advanced proficiency of MS Office. Project Management Software knowledge a plus.

Other:

  • Position requires moderate travel (Less than 25%).
  • Remote- near North Brunswick, NJ, Rocky Mount, VA,Ellenboro, WV, Paris, IL, or Londonderry,NH
