Job Overview:

MD-Kinney-where legacy meets innovation and excellence drives every detail-is looking for a dynamic Quality Manager to join our industry-leading team in blowers, vacuum pumps, and boosters! As a proud Ingersoll Rand brand within the Industrial Technologies and Services division, this role puts your mechanical expertise front and center as you lead a talented team, ensure top-tier quality, and make a lasting impact in a company known for over a century of trusted performance.

Based from our Springfield facility, you'll lead a team of Quality Technicians, provide hands-on technical support, and drive compliance with ISO-9001 International Quality Standards across our manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining all procedures required for ISO 9001 compliance, as well as preparing for internal and external quality audits. You'll collaborate closely with Procurement and Sourcing teams to ensure domestic and international suppliers deliver raw materials and manufactured components that meet all engineering and purchasing specifications. Additionally, this position plays a key role in shaping environmental, health, and safety (EHS) policies, providing expert guidance, and conducting audits to ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities
:



  • Direct supervisor for Quality Technicians.

  • Coordinates ISO visits with necessary staff and manages any corrective actions that occur as a result of external inspections.


  • Monitors production First-Pass-Yield data, supplier score cards, warranty trends, and other key quality metrics. Partner with the Plant Manager, Production Supervision, Sourcing Team, and ITS - America's Quality Leader to initiate corrective actions for key quality metrics as required.


  • In conjunction with Supplier Quality Engineer, work with outside vendors to develop or improve manufacturing processes for purchased components.


  • Actively participate in Kaizen Events and other Lean activities to improve quality and drive out waste / cost from the manufacturing processes.


  • Ensure vendor changes, part substitutions, and First Article Inspections are compliant with plant quality procedures.


  • Assist Manufacturing Engineering to troubleshoot and resolve production problems.


  • Work closely with global Customer Service, Field Service and Manufacturing personnel to resolve customer / field issues regarding legacy and new products.


  • Use advanced Quality Assurance techniques (FMEA, CMM Inspection, GD&T, Gage R&R Studies, Process Capability Studies...) to proactively manage product quality.


  • Conducts compliance reviews, identifying deficiencies.


  • Recommends corrective actions/remediation plans and follows up to ensure compliance. Ensures process' for all hazardous materials/waste are followed.


  • Develops, implements and maintains waste minimization and other environmental metrics to measure the effectiveness of the company's programs. Reviews proposed new manufacturing materials for regulatory impact, recommending approvals/denials to Management.


  • Ensures environmental compliance documents, policies and procedures are current; revises according to Federal or State regulation changes or company changes. Prepares emissions, water and waste reports and permits as needed. Ensures key contacts with Federal, State and local regulatory agencies are maintained.


  • Reviews current and proposed government laws and regulations and develops policy and procedures for operating units.


  • Develops and conducts training for environmental coordinators and waste handlers. Maintains training records.


  • Maintains any certifications in the field as well as stays abreast of changing regulations, chemicals, waste disposal systems, emissions systems, etc.




Requirements:



  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Industrial / Engineering Management preferred). Must have good mechanical aptitude of general machinery.

  • 8+ years of quality assurance experience preferably in a machining/assembly facility


  • 5+ years of progressive Leadership, managing Quality Assurance programs


  • Experience in leading audits


  • Previous experience in ERP Software, preferably with SAP


  • Superior analytical and problem solving skills


  • Excellent communication, project management and organizational skills.


  • Capable of working in a fast paced, creative, results-oriented atmosphere.

  • Proven expertise in leading ISO 9001 compliance efforts, managing audits, and maintaining documentation to meet international quality standards.

  • Ability to proactively identify nonconformances, manage corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement in quality systems.



Technical Problem Solving & Root Cause Analysis


  • Deep understanding of mechanical systems and manufacturing processes, with hands-on skills in advanced quality tools (e.g., FMEA, GD&T, CMM, Gage R&R, Process Capability).

  • Strong analytical skills to interpret key quality metrics, identify trends, and implement effective solutions.



Leadership & Team Development


  • Demonstrated experience leading and mentoring Quality Technicians, with the ability to build a high-performance team and foster accountability.

  • Skilled in cross-functional collaboration with manufacturing, sourcing, engineering, and field service teams to drive quality goals.



Supplier Quality & Process Improvement


  • Ability to manage and develop supplier relationships to ensure incoming materials meet engineering and purchasing specifications.

  • Experience partnering with suppliers and internal stakeholders to improve part quality, resolve production issues, and support lean initiatives.



Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Compliance


  • In-depth knowledge of environmental regulations and experience managing hazardous materials, waste minimization programs, and regulatory audits.

  • Competency in developing, implementing, and training on EHS procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and corporate policies.




Travel and Work Arrangements


  • This position is fully onsite in Springfield, MO

  • US Citizen or lawful Permanent Resident
