Memory Care Specialist

Job Description

The Memory Care Specialist at Helen Porter Nursing Home will provide an ongoing program of activities and engagement designed to meet the special interests and the physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being of residents with identified memory impairments and special needs related to their clinical diagnosis.

At Helen Porter, we have a memory care, post acute, and long term care unit. This position specifically supports our lovely Memory Care residents. Don't forget about our well-loved memory care residents, Boots, our resident cat who enjoys his days lounging on residents' beds in the sunshine.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about their work, and able to engage our residents on a daily basis. We love harboring an environment for our residents filled with activities, both fun and concentration oriented. We'd love someone who is creative, observant, and able to fit right into our passionate activities team.

Helen Porter is a recently renovated facility nestled right next to Porter Medical Center, with tall ceilings, circadian lights throughout, and a beautiful outdoor courtyard paired with a water fountain.

The hours for this role are Sunday - Thursday, late morning to mid-evening. It will be a set schedule.

Education/Experience

• Experience working with the elderly, and specifically within the healthcare field preferred but not required.
• High School Diploma required.
