As a member of our team, you will join a world leader in patient-centered care advocacy, policy and clinical research, quality and safety. Our culture encourages innovation, diversity, integrity and leadership. A nonprofit 501(c)(3), ACR (the American College of Radiology) has over 500 purpose-driven employees in the Greater Washington, DC and Philadelphia region.
If you share our core values of: * Integrity * Visionary * Excellence * Leadership * Transparency * Member-Driven we need you on our team!
The American College of Radiology seeks a visionary and strategic leader to serve as the inaugural Executive Vice President (EVP) for Member Value and Experience. Reporting directly to the CEO, this executive will play a critical role in shaping and executing strategies to enhance the value proposition of ACR membership and elevate the overall experience of members. The EVP will provide executive oversight for key functional areas vital to member connection and professional development including Membership; Education; Marketing, Public Affairs, and Communications; Conference and Meeting Services; Strategy Management and Foresight; and Publications.
The position is also responsible for some of the operational and member commissions and dyad relationships between staff and volunteer leaders. This position requires a dynamic leader adept at integrating diverse functions to create a seamless member journey, fostering loyalty, growth, and active participation within the College. The role focuses on developing long-range goals, strategies, plans, and policies; the ability to routinely exercise discretion; and independent judgment in the performance of job duties. This position is accountable for the overall programmatic and fiscal integrity of the multiple departments and external relationships, articulating the compelling mission and vision of the ACR to all stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
The Executive Vice President will play a pivotal leadership role in helping the organization shift toward a more unified and strategic approach to membership, marketing, and value delivery. This leader must guide a reimagining of how the College delivers value to members by integrating services, education, and communications in a way that reflects an innovative, dynamic professional member society. The EVP will be instrumental in aligning resources around a clear vision, particularly in aligning the needs of the members in the current environment with member benefits. Building on recent efforts to bring clarity and intentionality, the EVP will help define and articulate what differentiates the College in an increasingly competitive and shifting professional landscape.
The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of marketing, member engagement, and customer experience. Although a strong understanding of the realities of modern professional and trade associations is a benefit, candidates with experience in other industries could also be successful in this role. They must be comfortable operating in a hybrid space-part mission-driven society, part corporate enterprise-and skilled in interpreting market research, member/customer feedback, and broader industry trends. The EVP must advocate for innovation in education, where participation has declined, by aligning content delivery with new consumption
habits and enhancing the use of virtual, on-demand platforms. A critical part of this role will be to ensure volunteer contributions are respected and well-leveraged, and to foster a leadership culture that listens to members, communicates transparently, and leads with purpose.
A progressive, forward-thinking approach to marketing is essential. The EVP must enhance and advance an already strong marketing and communications function-ensuring it remains proactive, strategic, and highly responsive in amplifying the College's voice across media, to members, potential members, and the broader public. The media and marketing team is rich in talent and potential and now stands at an exciting inflection point. The new EVP will bring the strategic vision and decisive leadership needed to elevate the College's story, enhance our digital visibility, and ensure that the value we create is clearly and consistently communicated. Success in this role will require fluency in modern media, data-driven marketing strategies, and a collaborative, hands-on leadership style-qualities that will inspire confidence, strengthen performance, and accelerate the College's progress.
EVP responsibilities include:
- Strategic Leadership: Partner with the CEO and other members of the executive team to develop and implement overarching strategies that enhance member value, engagement, retention, and recruitment. Ensure alignment of departmental activities with the ACR's mission and strategic plan.

- Education: Oversee the development, delivery, and evaluation of ACR's non-clinical and clinical educational portfolio, including online learning, graduate medical education (GME) and continuing medical education (CME), and professional and leadership development resources. Ensure educational offerings are relevant, high-quality, and meet the evolving needs of radiologists and their practices in both content and delivery format.
- Marketing & Communications: Lead the strategic marketing and communication efforts for the responsible departments and for the College as a whole, ensuring consistent branding, effective promotion of programs and services, and clear communication of value to members and other interested parties utilizing traditional and newer communication platforms including social media. Oversee market research and analysis to inform strategy.
- Meetings & Events: Provide executive oversight for the planning, execution, and financial performance of ACR meetings, including the annual meeting, leadership meetings, and other educational conferences. Ensure educational meetings deliver high quality content, networking opportunities, and overall attendee experience.
- Strategy Management & Foresight: In conjunction with the CEO, lead the processes for ongoing strategic planning, performance monitoring, and environmental scanning within the assigned areas. Identify emerging trends, challenges, and opportunities in radiology and healthcare to inform future strategy and programming.
- Publications: Oversee the strategic direction and operations of ACR's publications, including journals (e.g., JACR and ACR Bulletin), newsletters, website, and other member communications. Ensure publications maintain high standards of quality, relevance, and impact.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Foster strong collaboration between responsible departments and with other ACR divisions to ensure integrated service delivery and a unified member experience.
- Fiscal Management: Develop and manage budgets for the assigned departments, ensuring responsible resource allocation and achievement of financial goals.

ACR leaders. - Perform other duties as required or assigned.
The Candidate
The Executive Vice President must be a strategic, versatile leader who can bridge the gap between what the College delivers and how that translates into meaningful value for its diverse membership. A deep understanding of the breadth of the profession-across radiology specialties, geographies, and practice types-is essential, as is the ability to distill complex content into clear, compelling messaging that resonates with members. This role requires a keen awareness of the nuances between branding and marketing, and the discipline to move beyond slogans to deliver authentic, data-driven engagement. The EVP must be deliberate in strengthening connections with state chapter leaders, leveraging their local insight to create a multiplier effect that amplifies national initiatives. An understanding of the fragmented nature of today's workforce across the radiology field-will be critical in shaping communication strategies that meet people where they are, using effective channels like social media, which remains underutilized.
Equally important are operational and interpersonal attributes. The EVP must be curious, adaptable, and able to collaborate closely with subject matter experts (SMEs), extracting essential insights across commissions and specialty areas to inform broader strategy. This position requires a strong ability to lead and integrate cross-functional teams, ensuring that marketing and content efforts are aligned and impactful-not just process-driven.
The EVP will need to elevate staff competencies, especially in leveraging member data and analytics, to close the current gap between available insights and actual utilization. With over 2,000 volunteers contributing to the College's work, this leader must also foster a culture of engagement, identifying pathways to increase
participation and recognize volunteer impact. Ultimately, the EVP will help set a new tone of leadership-one grounded in relevance, responsiveness, and the ability to inspire action across all levels of the organization.
