Job Summary

The Environmental Coordinator is responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and promoting sustainability practices within Barrett Industries. This role exists to minimize the environmental impact of our operations while enhancing the company's commitment to environmental stewardship.

The Environmental Coordinator will develop and implement environmental policies, conduct audits, and provide training to staff, thereby supporting the overall operational goals of the organization.

Main Responsibilities

ENVIRONMENTAL COMPLIANCE

  • Ensure adherence to all local, state, and federal environmental regulations through regular audits and inspections.
  • Prepare and submit accurate environmental reports and documentation to regulatory agencies in a timely manner.

TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT

  • Develop and conduct comprehensive training programs for employees on environmental policies, compliance procedures.
  • Promote sustainability initiatives among employees, to foster a culture of environmental responsibility.

IMPACT ASSESSMENT AND SUSTAINABILITY INITIATIVES

  • Monitor and evaluate the environmental impact of projects and operations.
  • Collaborate with project teams to integrate sustainable practices into project planning and execution

STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT

  • Serve as the primary contact for external stakeholders regarding environmental concerns.
  • Facilitate communication about environmental initiatives with regulatory agencies and community organizations.
Education And Minimum Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in environmental management or compliance, preferably in the construction or infrastructure industry.
Working Conditions And Physical Demands
  • Standard office environment with regular travel required for site assessments and audits.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally for equipment or materials related to environmental monitoring.

  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and standards.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration across teams.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
