Department Summary The Department of Dance and Theatre is housed in the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, with approximately 400 theatre majors and minors in theatre and dance. The Department offers a BA degree in Theatre with concentrations in Performance, Design/Technology, General Studies and Theatre Teacher Certification, and a Minor in Dance. The vibrant undergraduate program delivers a rigorous dance and theatre education within a liberal arts context. The Department produces a full season 6-8 productions as well as several laboratory events directed by faculty, guest artists, or students. Position Overview The Performing Arts Technician is responsible for technical work involving the coordination of all aspects of scenery construction in the Department of Dance and Theatre Arts. This position assists with supervision of student labs and workers, enforcement of safety guidelines, maintenance of shop equipment, inventory and purchasing of shop equipment, and installation, strike, and disposal/storage of departmental productions. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in related field and two years of professional related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
