WHAT YOU WILL DO
The F&I Manager plays a crucial role in maximizing finance and insurance product sales for heavy equipment purchases while ensuring top-tier customer satisfaction. This position involves direct engagement with customers and our sales teams to secure financing and effectively sell extended warranties, service contracts, and other protection products. Beyond customer-facing responsibilities, you'll also manage a field team of Financial Marketing Specialists and documentation support personnel, providing leadership and guidance. Additionally, you'll collaborate closely with our rental division and internal risk management team to offer and sell rental equipment damage coverage. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in F&I or equipment financing, exceptional communication skills, and a comprehensive understanding of lending practices, preferably gained within an automotive, truck, or heavy equipment dealership or lender.
WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work closely with the sales teams and individual customers, presenting and explaining a comprehensive range of financing options to help them make informed decisions for their heavy equipment purchases (e.g., excavators, bulldozers, loaders, etc.).
- Build strong rapport with customers to identify their needs and effectively present both financing solutions and F&I products.
- Maintain a consistently high level of customer satisfaction throughout the sales process.
- Establish and maintain robust working relationships with OEM captive finance companies and various lending institutions to secure competitive financing terms and programs for our customers.
- Accurately and efficiently process credit applications, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete.
- Negotiate with lenders on behalf of customers to obtain approvals and favorable terms.
- Prepare all necessary paperwork related to finance transactions, including contracts, insurance and lien documents.
- Ensure timely funding of all contracts.
- Effectively present and sell various F&I products
- Clearly and concisely explain the benefits and value of each product to customers.
- Achieve established sales goals for F&I product penetration and gross profit.
- Directly manage, train, and mentor a field team of Financial Marketing Specialists, empowering them to effectively promote and sell finance and insurance products.
- Oversee and support documentation personnel, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance in all paperwork processes.
- Conduct performance reviews, set clear objectives, and provide continuous feedback to team members.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
- Collaborate with the rental division to develop and implement strategies for offering and selling rental equipment damage coverage to rental customers.
- Work with the internal risk management department to understand coverage parameters and claims processes, ensuring proper communication of rental damage protection options.
- Educate rental customers on the benefits of damage coverage and facilitate the sale of these protection plans.
- Ensure all finance and insurance activities fully comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Maintain accurate records and reports of all F&I transactions.
- Stay current with changes in finance and insurance laws, regulations, and product offerings.
- Conduct business in an ethical and transparent manner at all times.
- Work closely with the sales team to ensure a seamless transition for customers from equipment selection to financing.
- Provide training and support to sales staff on financing options and F&I product benefits.
- Participate in sales meetings and contribute to overall dealership profitability.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field preferred. High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience as an F&I Manager in an automotive, truck, or heavy equipment dealership is highly preferred.
- Alternatively, 5 years of equipment financing experience with a captive OEM finance company or third party lending institution.
- Proven experience in managing and leading a team is essential.
- Demonstrated track record of consistently achieving and exceeding sales targets.
- Strong understanding of lending practices, credit analysis, and various financial products.
- Experience with or understanding of rental operations and equipment protection plans is a strong asset.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cohesive team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong ethical conduct and unwavering commitment to compliance.
- Valid driver's license and insurable driving record.
