Program Coordinator (Parenting Resource Center)

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Plan and implement programming and special events offered by the Parenting Resource Center.

2. Assist in recruitment and management of volunteers.

3. Coordinate with coworkers and department Director to ensure adequate coverage for planned events, programs and services.

4. Perform outreach and promotional activities.

5. Provide group and individual education and supportive services to parents and caregivers including but not limited to parenting, protective factors, access to community resources, and child safety.

6. Address and respond to complex group dynamics to promote a positive learning environment.

7. Be prepared to manage behaviors and issues that are identified in parenting settings to de-escalate stressful situations while maintaining the safety of the children.

8. Identify indicators for children at risk for child abuse, neglect, or sexual abuse and respond accordingly to State of Wisconsin requirements for mandated reporters.

9. Promote use of services offered within SSCHC and throughout the community.

10. Maintain accurate and timely electronic documentation of all encounters, recommendations, and referrals made; respond to referrals and electronic communications promptly and professionally.

11. Provide supervision of children during family programs and appointments as needed.

12. In conjunction with and in the absence of other staff members maintain a clean, safe, accessible and welcoming space for families and community members.

13. Participate in staff meetings, in-service training and workshops, and provide support to co-workers.

14. Represent SSCHC and the Parenting Resource Center at external meetings and conferences.

15. Comply with the Sixteenth Street TB Control Plan including PPD testing.

16. Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Two years of experience in early childhood programs, educational setting, or social service agency or Degree in social services, education, early childhood or related field.

2. Ability to become a Child Passenger Safety Technician within twelve months of hire.

3. Comfortability providing services in person and over virtual platforms.

4. Excellent oral and written communication skills.

5. Strong technology skills; familiarity with marketing media and applications such as Microsoft office.

6. Good time management and organizational skills.

7. Strong interpersonal skills: ability to work with and relate to a diverse population.

8. Bilingual (Spanish/English) required.
