Job Description

The main purpose of this position is to maintain animal colonies, perform experiments using tissue culture, confocal microscopy, western blot analysis and flow cytometry. This person will participate in generating experimental results, manuscript preparation and presenting at scientific meetings for studies that the person conducts. Additional duties include purchase of lab supplies and help with some administrative duties such as take notes of lab meetings and grant editing.

Shift

Monday - Friday
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Biology
Immunology and independent research study courses
Technical skills in cytometry, cell sorting, ELISA, mouse handling, DNGA genotyping, Cell culture, PCR and RT-PCR, data analysis and graphing
Animal and chemical handling

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $17.05 - $23.00 hourly
Grade: GGS - 007
