The Janitor - Floater cleans and keeps in an orderly condition all assigned spaces. This position will report to the work site and be given work assignments to cover where needed. Duties involve a combination of the following: sweeping, mopping, or scrubbing and polishing floors; removing trash and other refuse; dusting equipment furniture or fixtures; polishing metal fixtures or trimmings; providing supplies and minor maintenance services; and cleaning lavatories, showers, and restrooms (WDR Summary 11150). All position objectives are in accordance with Didlake's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).



  • Cleans and keeps in orderly condition working areas and washrooms of an office, or commercial or other establishments.
  • Sweeps, scrubs, waxes, and polishes floors using brooms, mops, and powered scrubbing and waxing machines.
  • Cleans rugs, carpets upholstered furniture, and draperies using a vacuum cleaner.
  • Dusting furniture and equipment.
  • Polishes metalwork such as fixtures and fittings.
  • Washes walls, ceiling, and woodwork.
  • Washes windows, door panels, and sills.
  • Empties wastebaskets and cleaning ashtrays.
  • Transports trash, waste, and other refuse to the disposal areas.
  • Cleans restrooms' fixtures, floors, walls and replenishes supplies.
  • Responsible for working with a positive team spirit and producing quality work.
  • Responsible for appropriate conduct and demeanor as dictated by Didlake Policy.
  • Responsible for following safety standards and guidelines in the proper use of the equipment and other activities.
  • Reports to the immediate supervisor for any and all maintenance issues and/or damage noticed in the employee's assigned work area or equipment.
  • Requisition supplies and equipment from the Supervisor.
  • Responsible for appropriate conduct and demeanor as dictated by Didlake Policy.
  • Follows safety standards and guidelines in the proper use of the equipment and other activities.
  • Completes and maintains all Didlake required training.
  • Other duties as assigned or as stated in the Statement of Work (SOW).
