Direct the college's strategy and implementation of Cyber Security safeguards to ensure continued operations in full compliance with all governance requirements. This role will serve as the designated Chief Information Security Officer and will work across departments and with third party experts to maintain a highly available and secure environment.
Essential Duties
Provide strategic and operational leadership of the college's Cyber Security environment.
Evaluate, select and deploy modern cyber security tools to improve IT's risk posture.
Serve as the primary point of contact for hardware & software vendors and third-party service providers.
Effectively manage and deploy a dedicated budget towards Cyber Security tools and services.
Lead the college InfoSec team, maintain required documentation standards, and provide project management for associated initiatives.
Coordinate with college's risk management team and HR to develop user awareness training.
Serve as the primary IT Cyber Security interface for internal and external audit partners.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, MIS, Cyber Security, Business Management, or other related field. Degree requirement may be substituted with relevant and equivalent work experience.
5 years IT security related hands on experience.
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or 5 years as CISO.
Proficiency in developing technical documentation standards.
Professional presentation skills required for senior management and Board of Regents interaction.
Ability to work for prolonged periods of time at a computer.
Ability to manage highly stressful situations.
Adept at online and in-person professional communication.
