This journey level position will be responsible for assisting in contract administration of Metropolitan's State Water Project supplies, with a focus on financial aspects. This includes, but is not limited to, preparing reports and analytics for State Water Project payments and water deliveries; preparing budgets for State Water Project and water supply programs; contract administration tasks related to the annual audit of Metropolitan's State Water Project charges; conducting analyses related to State Water Project audit and financial matters; and assisting in water supply planning activities. This position will also develop and maintain the State Water Project Supply and Programs Team budget, including monitoring and reporting on budget compliance throughout the fiscal year and tracking budget performance measures. This position will also prepare board letters and presentations.

The ideal candidate is detailed-oriented with a willingness to explore topics and their related causes or issues; patient and determined to explore problems thoroughly so that they can be resolved accurately; and proactively focused on developing plans for correcting issues or handling daily tasks. This position will also require a basic understanding of water resource issues and water planning activities; and a familiarity with finance and accounting principles, financial reporting, auditing and related analysis.

Schedule: 44/36, Monday through Friday /Every other Friday off Monday through Thursday 9 hours per day, 8 hours per day every other Friday. Start times are no earlier than 6 am and end times are no later than 6 pm.

Hybrid: Metropolitan's current practice in this position is a hybrid work schedule. This typically includes two days a week in person and the other days remote. This is subject to change dependent on organizational needs. In addition, a telework policy is scheduled for negotiations and once completed and implemented, will provide final direction on the hybrid schedule.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and four years of relevant experience; or two years in an MWD Assistant Resource Specialist II classification; or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and two years of relevant experience.

Relevant Experience is defined as: A combination of experience in at least three of the following areas: water resource and planning issues; energy resources; finance and accounting principles; financial reporting; and auditing and analysis.

Related Degrees: accounting, finance, public administration, business administration, engineering, city planning, economics or related field

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
License(s): Valid California Class C Driver's License or equivalent (required at time of application) that allows you to drive during your employment.
