Job Summary
- Leads and coordinates the analysis, implementation and communication of critical revisions to the Southwest Airlines published flight schedules. Demonstrates an advanced level of airline scheduling techniques, profitability decisions, airline operational constraints, and effective communication. Works across multiple departments to factor in both commercial and operational impacts and constraints, leading efforts to enhance collaboration among others. Assists with Southwest's multi-million dollar slot portfolio. Maintains flexibility and contributes to strategic initiatives by applying ingenuity as well as creativity.

Responsibilities:
- Leads the revisions of the Southwest flight schedule by overseeing the production of high-quality inputs, managing constraints, identifying obstacles and recommending solutions, and ensures that all schedule initiatives are met
- Leads the process of gathering schedule change requests/inputs/constraints from other departments, such as Network Planning, Crew Planning, Ground Operations, Operational Performance and Revenue Management
- Leads the advanced execution of complex schedule changes including Demand Shaping, Available Fleet deployment, ASM adjustments, slot changes, etc.
- Ensures that all schedule parameters are met, including market frequencies, physical gates, staffed gates, connecting bank structures, minimum turn times, block times, tow times, gate assignments, etc.
- Evaluates commercial requests to determine the best way to achieve them without violating operational requirements and minimize the impact on already booked Customers
- Performs complex, highly visible flight schedule revisions with minimal guidance
- Performs the highly visible and complex post-publication capacity changes including but not limited to demand shaping, available fleet deployment, ASM adjustments, international and domestic extra sections
- Coordinates all runway construction projects across multiple groups to ensure schedules incorporate the necessary parameters or are adjusted to meet the requirements
- Functions at an advanced level in schedule editing
- Supports enhancements for schedule optimization, editing, and simulation software and various other models
- Supports the Principle Airport Access Consultant with external relationships including other airline slot coordinators, FAA slot coordinators, IATA, Customs and Border Protection, Airport Common Use Gate Coordinators
- Supports the process for submitting requests for landing rights and pre-clearance services to Customs and Border Protection (CBP)
- Produce on-demand reports supporting international service including but not limited to passenger counts and Cuba overfly permits
- Implements initiatives, improves processes and creates efficiencies to allow for quick turn schedule modifications
- Trains all Senior Analysts and Analysts on the Team on all schedule distribution functions and serves as a coach, mentor, and resource
- May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of principles and methods for moving people or goods by air, rail, sea, or road, including the relative costs and benefits
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models
- Knowledge of media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods including alternative ways to inform and entertain via written, oral, and visual media
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction
- Ability to understand the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making
- Ability to understand and apply information to contribute to the organizations strategic plan
- Skilled in identifying complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
- Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
- Ability to listen, understand, and communicate ideas presented in writing and/or in speaking with others
- Ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense
- Ability to quickly make sense of, combine, and organize information into meaningful patterns

Education
- Required: High School Diploma or GED
Experience
- Advanced level experience, seasoned and specialized knowledge in:
- Airline network planning including flight schedule alignment with commercial and operational impact, industry-leading capabilities, and aircraft scheduling techniques
- Network Planning software systems and data
- Impact of Network Planning systems/processes on downline internal/external systems/processes/Customers
- Commercial and Operational performance metrics and targets
- Airline industry including an understanding of competitors operational and commercial tactics and recent performance
Physical Abilities
- Ability to perform work duties from [limited space work station/desk/office area] for extended periods of time
- Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
- Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job
Other Qualifications
- Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
- Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
- Must meet confidentiality expectations as to confidential, proprietary and sensitive Company information
Pay & Benefits
- Competitive market salary from$105,550 - $117,300per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the company.
