Job Description
Elwyn seeks a Maintenance Manager is responsible for the oversight of the activities of the Maintenance Supervisors, as well as the record books related to the Department of Health inspections, along with the record keeping of locks and keys. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintains Elwyn facilities
- Maintains and performs preventative maintenance (PM) in accordance with established PM schedules
- Communicates with supervisors and staff via phone and emails daily related to facilities maintenance issues
- Prioritizes work orders as they are received
- Oversees and assists in training new hires in the department
- Provide supervision of assigned staff in the areas including, but not limited to, recruitment, selection, leadership, coaching, training, performance management, promotion, discipline, and termination
- Works with, understands, and complies with terms and conditions of collective bargaining agreements (CBA) within a unionized environment with tasks including but not limited to adherence to scheduling procedures, processing transfers and promotions, administering disciplinary actions, adjudicating grievances, where appropriate, etc.
- Responds to requests for information and access relevant facility files
- Oversees the work activity of building contractors
- Maintains key and lock inventory and orders materials and issues keys as needed
- Maintains and updates systems information in the computer database as they are replaced
- Provides on-call responsibilities for building maintenance after hours with some weekend coverage for Elwyn's Media Campus and Community Residential Services (CRS) locations
- Performs additional responsibilities as assigned
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Seven (7) years' experience as a technician in the building service industry
- Three (3) years' experience providing supervision
- Experience working in the building trades preferred
- Previous experience working within and managing a unionized workforce preferred
- Non-profit human service experience highly preferred
- Ability to install/repair locks and panic bars and associated hardware
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage and prioritize multiple, often competing, priorities
- Demonstrated strong attention to detail
- Demonstrated strong time management and organizational skills
- Demonstrated excellent judgment with the ability to independently solve problems and make decisions with little or no need for direct supervision
- Demonstrated ability to anticipate future needed changes or identify problem areas and take effective actions
- Must be able to perform CPR and crisis intervention using agency-trained protocols
- Must possess excellent customer interaction, collaboration, presentation, and written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated intermediate experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook; knowledge of PowerPoint and proficiency in relevant computer systems related to the field preferred
- Must possess a current, valid driver's license in state of residence, have a minimum of two (2) years of driving experience within the United States, and have an acceptable driving record
