How You'll Perform the Role
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Continuously perform all required tasks in a safe manner, adhering to all established safety rules and procedures.
- Check bags for quality defects off the machine, do all quality checks and paper-work as per Quality Policy.
- Follow all quality policies and procedures. Must comply with all good manufacturing practices.
- Must comply with all safety practices and guidelines including PPE requirements.
- Safely and efficiently:
- strip rolls down, removing liner and/or bands and removing layers of damaged paper.
- Assist BMO in cutting a splice in paper rolls and maneuver rolls into position and change as necessary
- Assist BMO in the lifting, carrying and placing of bales onto pallet
- Assist BMO to start machines when needed
- Assist to Thread paper through machine smoothly as required
- Actively work on adjuster training
- Adjust prints
- Change blades
- Mount plates
- Etc...
- Clean ink pans, machines, and wash roller.
- Ensure all raw materials are prepped and ready for BMO to use
- Relief BMOs and operate machines while BMO is on break
- Report machine adjustments and repairs that are required to Adjuster and/or Supervisor
- Meet/achieve safety, quality, production waste and housekeeping goals set forth by management.
- Maintain assigned area clean and free of debris
- Performs other duties as assigned.
What We Need From You
Qualifications:
- Prefer to have a High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum 1 year of experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Capable of communicating with all levels of internal and external customers.
- Must be able to think on your feet, work with limited supervision and make sound decisions.
- Must be a team player with a "can do" attitude.
- Should possess basic mechanical skills.
- Must be capable of standing for long periods of time.
- Ability to frequently lift and carry 50 lbs.
- Must have basic troubleshooting abilities.
- Regularly required to stand, sit, move about facility, climb stairs, bend, twist, kneel, crouch or crawl, use hands and fingers to touch, handle, or feel objects, tools and controls, grasp, push, pull, reach with hands and arms, lift above shoulder level. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
