Aerobraze Engineered Technologies, a division of Wall Colmonoy manufactures turbine engine components like turbine nozzles, turbine vanes, complete turbine engines (both manufacturing and repair), diffusers, honeycomb seals and segments, heat shields, and parts for various turbomachinery.

Our 90,000-square foot facility located in Cincinnati, Ohio houses a dedicated team of 50+ highly skilled professionals and constantly expands its production capabilities. Our products are globally shipped to customers far and wide.

The Engineering Manager is a part of the strategic leadership team which provides leadership, direction, accountability, and training for AET Cincinnati. The EM manages day-to-day functioning of the Engineering team and is a leader by example in facilitating quality hardware shipping in a timely manner.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Manages Engineering Team to lead and manage all processes and programs from development to production as required to achieve goals.
  • Evaluates workload requirements and delegates assignments to engineers to meet customer production schedules.
  • Establishes measurable Engineering Department operational objectives and assignments to support overall business unit plans and goals.
  • Suggests methods for improving product quality, design, or manufacturing processes and facilitates process improvement initiatives.
  • Manages staff selection, performance development, and training processes to ensure team competencies and capabilities reach the business goals and expectations.
  • Proactively identifies needs, recommends improvements, considers potential issues and evaluate costs and potential savings to optimize existing machinery and/or processes.
  • Performs root cause analysis using a number of established systems and techniques such as Failure Modes Effects Analysis, Cause and Effect diagrams (fishbone), 5 Whys, etc.
  • Reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications.
  • Participates in, and contributes to, quoting activity with Business Development Team.
  • Communicates and cultivates relationships with customers regularly.
  • Consistently exercises independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Conducts performance evaluations for Engineering Team.


Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations.
  • 5+ years of management experience leading an engineering group. Experience with NADCAP processes a bonus.
  • In-depth understanding of AS & ISO requirements.
  • Self-motivated with a sense of urgency and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to make technical and managerial decisions which will have a significant effect on product function and quality.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all internal and external customers and employees.
  • Able to lead, plan and direct technical efforts, and apply technical tools to meet team objectives.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and database management tools.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
