Position Summary
The Freight Forwarder is responsible for building rapport and trust with Clients by delivering exceptional service to them consistently. Freight Forwarder's are responsible for accurate and timely data entry of shipping and receiving information for single and/or multiple Customers. Freight Forwarder's are also responsible for accurate and timely order processing to support the ecient operation of the Domestic Tradeshow Shipping Department. Tradeshow coordinating can be high paced, last minute changes, very detailed as it pertains to tasks that require completion for each shipment. This department manages not just the shipping, but other key aspects to tradeshows and events for high profile clients, and looking to grow beyond our current client base. As part of this DSV team, Associates are expected to meet company objectives in the areas of performance, knowledge, efficiency, safety, and quality. Associates are expected to comply with all corporate, department and site-specic policies. *Note there are adjacent warehouse responsibilities tied to this position that are mentioned below

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
* Data entry of key information into DSV's logistics order platform.
* Strategize transportation routing of multiple shipments attached to a single project, working with various customers and suppliers on each shipment
* Secure transportation carriers to facilitate customer shipments, ensuring on-time pick-up and deliveries per customer requests. Obtain carrier quotes, communicate all necessary key information to each carrier, tracking throughout and holding them accountable for communicated expectations
* Own every aspect of each shipment, from initial notification to information gathering, securing transportation, following an extensive task list that is date and time sensitive, tracking shipment until delivery, completion of all steps as they pertain to the customer, the carrier and DSV internal requirements
* Secure and confirm all associated charges on each order, billing per outlined SOP.
* Generate all related paperwork and necessary information required for customer work order, tracking all orders for daily for status updates
* Communicate with the customer and other partner suppliers of any activity concerning their merchandise.

MINIMUM Requirements / Qualifications

5+ years' experience minimum in a Shipping/Transportation Customer Service Coordinator / Freight Forwarder's related capacity, having worked with customers & carriers. Experience must include having coordinated multiple shipments simultaneously, from inception to final billing process. Including, but not limited to:

* Shipment Information gathering
* Securing multiple carrier quotes for each shipment, sending key information, shipment tracking, identifying potential issues before they occur
* Knowledge of both LTL and FTL moves, transit times, nuances of each
* Data Entry of all shipment details, carrier information, knowledge of key information that should be captured on a Bill of Lading
* Shipment and project strategy as it relates to timing, work-back schedules, identifying the most effective, safe, and cost-effective way to ship after evaluating various possible solutions
* Expedited & time-sensitive shipments
* Carrier logistics such as Straight Trucks, 53' Trailers, and carrier equipment such as e-track, ratchet straps, load bars
* Palletized and loose freight, anvil & pelican cases

Department / DSV Specific Expectations
* Performing all duties and tasks at a high level, working independently and at times with other members of the department on large customer projects with multiple moving parts, able to remain organized and poised under pressure
* Multi-tasking, handling various projects taking place in different locations and able to pivot as the needs change throughout the day/week, self-accountable to ensure any details are missed
* Understand the importance of escalation of strategy, issues or even perceived issues.
* Knowledge retention of outlined SOP's as well as verbal guidance and training, notating learned information in an organized fashion in a location that can readily be accessed and utilized.
* Ensure department expectations and standards are kept, as it relates to Data Entry, Communication, SOP Processes and all Procedures outlined by the Department Manager
* Effective time management skills
* Experience Growth as it relates to Tradeshow specifics, overall strategy development, working to be a lead in the department, dependable and capable of taking on large projects once properly trained

Customer Interfacing Activities
* Maintain a good working relationship with customers, and supporting suppliers by responding to all inquiries, securing key information needed regarding each event, shipment details, other key pieces of information as they relate to a project(s) or shipment(s) assigned to you.
* Act as a liaison between the warehouse, accounting and other DSV departments as directed.

Communication
* Make & Answer telephone calls in a cheerful, courteous, professional, responding in a timely manner.
* Communicate not only with each customer, and other suppliers also working on similar project.
* Construct, forward and reply to emails with intelligent, timely responses, providing direction and clear understanding of what is required.
* Utilize company IM (Instant Message) Microsoft Teams platform with co-workers and manager as needed to complete tasks.

Warehouse Functions:
* Warehouse adjacent duties for incoming shipments in support of the department as well as tied to projects you are working on, i.e.: separating, confirming tracking, stacking, labeling boxes.
* Must be able to lift and move boxes up to 25 lbs.
* Assure that receiving counts match packing lists and purchase orders, piece counts.
o Prepare any reports concerning customer service as required by supervisors. Assist in resolving any discrepancies.
* Ensure the accuracy of all receiving and shipping documents.
o Abide by all safety standards and rules of the facility, warehouse.

Data Entry
* Enter and verify data regarding customer orders, shipments, receipts, physical inventories, adjustments, etc., in an accurate and timely fashion.
* Parcel Tracking Data Entry
* Typing speed between 40-60 wpm.

Other Requirements
* Highschool Diploma or Equivalent preferred.

Computer Skills
* Intermediate computer skills
* Procient with MS Oce Applications: Outlook, Excel, Word, One-Note
* Typing speed between 40-60 wpm.
* WMS functions

Language Skills

* English (reading, writing, verbal)
* Business writing prociency

Mathematical Skills
Intermediate level to verify quantities of product, count inventory, or perform other duties associated with handling, storing, and distributing client products.

Other Skills
* Strong attention to detail accuracy and accomplish job task in a timely manner. Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision or guidance.
* Ability to multi-task
* Eective communication skills
* Must be able to eectively adapt to change and thrive in a stimulating, fast-paced work environment.
