Advanced Practice Clinician Fellow in Psychiatry

We are offering a 12-month postgraduate fellowship program for Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners interested in advanced training in Psychiatry with a targeted start date of January 2026.

The HealthPartners Psychiatry Advanced Practice Clinician (APC) Fellowship engages APC learners in extensive training within Psychiatry, as well as required rotations in specialty areas deemed essential for proficiency. Responsibilities include performing histories and physicals, formulating an assessment and plan, and providing recommended treatments. The APC fellow will be based primarily at Regions.

Didactic sessions compliment the diverse rotations and hands on experiences, offering APC Fellows the opportunity to develop clinical competence, critical thinking skills, and interprofessional collaboration. This allows APCs to successfully integrate into the specialty of Psychiatry at an accelerated rate compared with on-the-job training.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program. Applicants may be in final year of completing this requirement with hiring dependent upon successful completion.

Required Licensure/Certification:

Licensed to practice as a Physician Assistant in Minnesota with certification by the NCCPA or licensed as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner by the state of Minnesota & certified by AANP or ANCC.

Note: Candidates are welcome to apply prior to formal licensure and certification but must be obtained at least 3 months prior to start date of program.
