Description & Requirements The combination of molecular and computational advances over the past decade has substantially augmented our ability to create transformative methods. While this accelerated pace of methods development offers great promise, the rapid expansion of novel techniques gives rise to new challenges in effective adoption and implementation. To capitalize on these exciting advances, the Broad Institute has formed the Methods Development Lab (MDL), with the mission of identifying key scientific frontiers, generating high-performance end-to-end methods, and driving cutting-edge applications with collaborators across the research community.
Research Scientist II:
We are seeking a Research Scientist II to drive the development and enable scaled application of single-cell sequencing technologies. A core research aim at the MDL is to catalyze a transformational shift in single-cell sequencing capabilities, making 1 million cell experiments routine and 1 billion cell flagship projects possible. In addition to scale, we have a strong research emphasis on creating advanced library construction techniques that increase capture efficiency and enable multimodal measurements. Much of this work is enabled by bringing industry partners together, achieving new capabilities through shared ambitious goals. The Research Scientist II will drive key projects in this space, executing on project plans, communicating progress, and fostering strong and productive partnerships with industry collaborators. In addition to methods development, The Research Scientist II will drive application of these novel methods at the Broad Institute and work closely with Broad Clinical Lab's production teams to translate novel methods into production scale processes to make them available to the community.
