Senior Software Engineer | C Programming and Routing Protocols (Multicast/Control Plane)

Your Impact

The Distributed System Engineering (DSE) group seeks an experienced Engineer to deliver software solutions for our Data Center products. This is an excellent opportunity to participate in development of flexible software in DSE for the next generation networking products.

As part of a diverse Cisco NX-OS multicast control plane team, you will play an integral part in software development process. A successful candidate for this role can be flexible, quickly learning new skills and taking responsibility for tasks and features. You will be solving new problems and tackling new challenges every day, with a focus on quality and attention to detail, supported by a team of fellow engineers to deliver new functionality and improvements to our customers. You will be developing a new feature or a fully automated test, investigating a problem, or using our test tools to ensure that our software is always high quality. Technology that you work in could be in Programmability, Routing Infra, etc.

Minimum Qualifications

• BS degree within a STEM area, plus 6+ plus year as a Software Engineer
• Experience coding using "C" (multi-threaded environment) as well as scripting using Python
• Experience with multicast routing protocols such as but not limited to, PIM, IGMP, IGMP Snooping and EVPN/MVPN/NGMVPN

Preferred Qualification

• Knowledge of Routing Technologies, BGP, OSPF, ISIS, MPLS preferred
• Understands advanced architecture principles and design practice
• Multicast forwarding experience
• Creative problem-solving skills and excellent troubleshooting/debugging skills
• Experienced with various operating system concepts, Inter process communication and high availability
