Job Summary

Scottsdale Community College is seeking a full-time Student Services Manager to lead operations for the Welcome Center and Testing Center. This position is responsible for planning, managing, and overseeing the implementation of programs and services in these student support units. Key responsibilities include providing leadership, supervision, and strategic direction for both departments. Ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies. Conducting program evaluation and assessment to enhance services, and participates in strategic planning, program review, data analysis, and the implementation of new initiatives. This role is also responsible for support efforts related to the Strategic Enrollment Management Plan, including leading student engagement, recruitment, and retention activities related to these departments. Effectively managing departmental budgets and resources.

Essential Functions

30% - Directs, plans, manages, and oversees the operations of two distinct departments: the Welcome Center and the Testing Center. Provides strategic leadership, program evaluation, staff supervision, and operational management to ensure effective services delivery in both areas.

25% -Ensures departmental compliance with institutional policies and applicable laws related to testing and welcome center operations. Remains current on regulatory changes and implements changes. Engages with external stakeholders, prospective and current students. Supports college-wide and district wide initiatives focused on engagement, recruitment, and retention as is related to the departments.

20% - Participates in strategic planning processes, including program review, data analysis, implementation of best practices, and involvement in college and district committees. Contributes to the development and execution of new initiatives and supports Strategic Enrollment Management (SEM), including outreach and engagement with students.

20% - Plans, develops, monitors, and manages department budget, for the Welcome Center and Testing Center, ensuring fiscal responsibility and alignment with institutional priorities..

5% - Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in education, sociology, business administration or related field and five (5) years of progressively responsible student services or related experience that includes such things as administration of policies and procedures, program oversight and two (2) years of supervisory experience.

OR

Associate Degree from a regionally accredited institution in education, sociology, business administration or related field and seven (7) years of progressively responsible student services or related experience that includes such things as administration of policies and procedures, program oversight and two (2) years of supervisory experience.

OR

High School Diploma/GED and nine (9) years of progressively responsible student services or related experience that includes such things as administration of policies and procedures, program oversight and two (2) years of supervisory experience.

Desired Qualifications

A. Experience working in a Welcome Center or One-Stop Enrollment Center within higher education.

B. Testing Center experience or knowledge of testing procedures and knowledge of administering tests and the technology associated with this.

C. Experience working with students in areas of enrollment, engagement, and retention.

D. Skilled in the enrollment process such as registration, add/drop, program plans.

E. Knowledge of campus resources with a high level of customer service experience related to supporting students.

Special Working Conditions
  • Travel to campus during the interview/selection process will be at the candidate's own expense.
  • Will be required to travel or be assigned to other MCCCD locations.
  • May be required to work evenings and weekends.
  • May require prolonged periods of sitting and viewing a computer screen.
  • May be required to lift or carry up to 25 lbs.
  • This position requires a physical presence on campus.
