Video Professional: Shooting, Editing, Post Production

Long term Contract- 6 months with possibility to extend

Hybrid- Oak Brook, 2 days WFH other 3 days divided between onsite shoot locations (Elk Grove Village area) and corporate headquarters.

Our client, a large hardware retailer is seeking a skilled and creative jack of all trades Video Professional to collaborate on various video projects, with an emphasis on social media content, along with promotional content, how to, and in-house content. The ideal candidate has a strong eye for detail, storytelling sensibilities, and technical proficiency in shooting and editing. Ideally looking for someone who can manage many projects at the same time, pivot to ever changing priorities, provide a fresh, and youthful perspective to both filming and editing-someone who understands current trends, visual storytelling styles, and what resonates with younger digital audiences. Editing services are needed for departments including digital marketing, social media and corporate projects

**This role will be requested on occasion to do production work by being a production assistant at local shoots (Chicagoland area).

**This would include being a second camera operator, assisting with lighting and ensuring audio is at peak performance.

Responsibilities:



  • Onsite Video Shoots using DSLR Camera
  • Edit raw video footage into polished, high-quality content that aligns with project goals and brand guidelines.
  • Collaborate with producers, directors, and creative teams to bring concepts to life.
  • Work with graphic designers to create logos, animation and graphics
  • Add music, sound effects, motion graphics, and visual effects as needed.
  • Ensure videos are optimized for various platforms (YouTube, Instagram, Facebook TikTok, LinkedIn, etc.).
  • Maintain project organization, file management, and backup protocols.\
  • Track and report video performance metrics (views, watch time, engagement) to inform future content strategy.
  • Upload final videos to social media platforms, YouTube and other applicable areas in addition to writing titles, descriptions, tagging videos, and selecting thumbnails.
  • Meet deadlines and adapt to evolving feedback quickly and professionally.


Requirements:



  • Proven experience in video editing with a portfolio or showreel demonstrating a range of styles and platforms.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Final Cut Pro.
  • Minimum five years in social media video production experience
  • Strong sense of pacing, storytelling, and visual composition, with a youthful and trend-aware editing style.
  • Familiarity with current trends on platforms like YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram, including short-form and vertical video formats.
  • Ability to upload and publish content across platforms (YouTube Studio, Meta Business Suite, etc.), including writing engaging titles, descriptions, and choosing effective thumbnails.
  • Basic knowledge of video SEO and best practices for maximizing reach and engagement.
  • Experience tracking and analyzing content performance metrics such as views, retention, and audience engagement.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to work independently on tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills and openness to feedback and collaboration.
