Overview
Inspects, calibrates, repairs, installs and maintains medical equipment and instrumentation used in health care delivery field by performing the following duties and other duties as assigned. Responsibilities ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Associate Degree in Bio-Medical Engineering/Electronics or related or related Military equivalent certifications or CBET Certification. Minimum 1-3 years of experience in an environment that pertains to installing, maintaining and repairing medical, electronic and/or mechanical equipment CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE Certification as a Bio-Medical Technician by AAMI preferred Maintain a valid driver's license Have and maintain driving record per Mercy's HR-01 Fleet Safety policy ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS Passing the Driver's License Check and/or Credit Check (for those positions requiring). Passing the WI Caregiver Background Check and/or IL Health Care Workers Background Check. Must be able to follow written/oral instructions. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES Ability to understand and apply knowledge in technical manual, interpretive/analytical skills Ability to prioritize workload Good interpersonal/communication skills Knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management System; Inventory software; Manufacturing software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software. SPECIAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS The Special Physical Demands are considered Essential Job Functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation. This is considered heavy work. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
