Designer - Houston, TX

Designer - $39-$41 / hr

Job Objective: Designer is accountable for supporting custom and standard products including skids, hydraulic systems, and equipment for testing. The designer will assist with servicing our equipment in the field and with installation of our products when required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: In addition to the essential job functions described below, all associates will perform duties as requested by management. Assigned responsibilities and duties may vary based upon location size and operation.

Reports directly to the Engineering Manager or to a Senior Design Engineer. Interacts with all departments, suppliers, and customers.

• The designer will perform these functions while maintaining a high standard of quality and quantity.
• They will be familiar with GD&T.
• Understand the design of packaged/skid equipment.
• Must be proficient with Autodesk Inventor.
• Must possess knowledge of machine design and standard materials.
• Knowledge of fabrication and welded assemblies.
• This professional will assist with customer service issues and design questions, interfacing with our customers, sales force, and suppliers, and helping to solve problems through development and design of new products.
• Assist with the development of standard and custom products and will be involved with testing of that equipment in the lab.
• Assist with end-of-line testing and validation of our products, may participate in the development of testing equipment for that purpose.
• Help improve our handling of various issues in our custom order processing.
• Support Lean Initiatives.
• Perform other duties as responsibilities as needed.

Knowledge Skills & Abilities Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years' experience in industrial environment, designing products/skids.
• 3 years' experience in 3D modeling software, specifically Autodesk Inventor.
• PC literate (MS Office and Lotus Notes preferred).
• Must demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team player.
• High attention to detail and self-motivation skills.
• Ability to lift 30 to 75 pounds.
• Flexibility to work overtime and weekends when needed

• Walking: move about inside the office and/or branch facilities as well as airport/travel needs
• Sit/Stand: Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50 percent of the time
• Capable of traveling as required

Attendance Requirements: Attendance on a regular, consistent basis is mandatory.
