Job Overview:

The Analyst is responsible for multiple facets of the Energy Procurements and Settlements process. The role will interact with PJM, will assist with the procurement RFP for default load, will manage AEPS (Renewable credits) with suppliers, and will assist with the settlement process with PJM and suppliers. The Analyst will also manage the daily forecasting of wholesale supplier load to ensure payments to suppliers, through the internal DLC system, are seamless.

Job Responsibilities:



  • Provide overall guidance to the EGS and to the Company in-house departments on items such as coordination of credit requirements and Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) testing schedules, assisting EGSs in starting a new account or adding sub-accounts, changing legal names, and setting up PJM Retail Load Responsibility contracts (RLR)
  • Provide ongoing technical support for the customer choice program as required both during and after the registration process for new a EGS after completion
  • Work closely with Finance, Controllers Office, Legal and other groups to meet monthly financial closings deadlines and revenue reporting, audit requests, and required regulatory reporting. This is inclusive of FERC data that will be submitted by Duquesne Light management.
  • Responsible for maintaining Duquesne Light Company Supplier tariff commitments by adhering to the timely completion of daily, weekly, and monthly reporting activities, inclusive of audit sign off.
  • Ensure validation of accurate load settlement results for all EGSs and POLR suppliers with PJM.
  • Responsible for the calculation and compilation of interconnection accounting for Megawatt hours (MWh) and dollars associated with Regional Transmission Operator (RTO) billing to Duquesne Light.
  • Provide assistance to the Manager, Energy Supply, to manage all PJM Retail Load Responsibility (RLR) and Wholesale Load Responsibility (WLR) contracts and PJM load response programs.
  • Participate in PJM committee and working group meetings and provide analysis of proposed agreement, rule, and procedural changes to help determine impact to the Company and customers in addition to optimum voting positions.
  • Develop hourly zonal Control Area load forecasts for all EGSs and POLR suppliers and validate all data submissions to PJM.



Education/Experience Requirements:



  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field, plus 3 or more years of energy experience or in lieu degree 5 years of energy experience.



Skills:



  • Sufficient maturity to exercise independent judgment on basic projects and assignments
  • Advanced PC skills utilizing Microsoft Office and other mainframe business applications
  • Must have expert knowledge in the following applications: SQL Database Queries, Microsoft


Excel, Microsoft Access, Visual Basic for Microsoft Applications.



  • Ability to demonstrate a questioning attitude to learn, produce results and develop relationships
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Word)
  • Desire to continue to learn, grow and work cross functionally across Duquesne Light and deliver results

Scope

Primary focus is on daily deliverables, outputs and reporting. Typically accountable for managing one's own time and work flow. Responsible for using prescribed guidelines to analyze situations and solve problems. Work activities are typically moderate to complex in nature requiring the incumbent to draw on previous knowledge to perform role. Continues to build knowledge base but has a solid foundation to act independently the majority of the time. Still draws on experts and managers when needed but less frequently.

Decision Impact

Problems and issues faced are vague. Draws on past experience on a regular basis. Accountable for direct level of reasoning and decision making.

Hybrid Work

Position follows our hybrid work model, with a minimum of two days working in the office and the remaining days working remotely. Reporting location and frequency may be subject to change based on job role and department needs.

Storm Roles
