Sr Accountant

Responsible for overseeing financial activities related to construction projects, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and optimizing financial processes. Performs a variety of accounting tasks related to the monthly accounting close and maintenance/processing of accounting records and job costing, as well as audit support.

• A working knowledge of accounting fundamentals and principles normally acquired through the completion of a four-year degree in accounting, business or related field; and
• Five years' experience in accounting.

• Assists Controller with monthly and year-end accounting close processes including, but not limited to, bank account reconciliations, central cash entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, preparing journal entries with supporting documents, and reviewing WIPs for accuracy in proper coding and earning type.
• Assures accounting records are prepared and maintained in accordance with the Company's accounting policies, chart of accounts, and related GAAP principles and practices.
• Collaborates with project and company managers, along with corporate management to ensure all accounting related activities support the accounting schedule and appropriate revenue recognition methods are being utilized.
• Assists with job maintenance including job status, job costing and cost projections to ensure appropriate revenue recognition.
• Analyzes current costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.
