As a Groundskeeper under the guidance of the Manager and Director of Environmental Services, you'll play a key role in maintaining the hospital's outdoor spaces-supporting both the aesthetic and safety standards of our world-class facility. From vibrant gardens to well-kept walkways, your efforts will help uphold the unique charm of our island community.
This is more than just landscaping-it's about making a difference in a healthcare setting while enjoying the natural beauty and close-knit culture that Martha's Vineyard has to offer. Patient Care Required: No Essential Functions Operate, clean, and maintain all groundskeeping equipment, including lawn mowers, snow blowers, leaf blowers, and power sweepers. Care for flower beds and boxes by planting, watering, trimming, and pruning trees and shrubs. Perform a range of outdoor maintenance duties: mow lawns, remove weeds and litter, rake, hedge trim, sweep walkways and parking lots, and maintain outdoor furniture. Support indoor cleaning during inclement weather as directed. Take an active role in seasonal tasks such as snow removal and storm preparation. Help maintain the safety and appearance of the hospital's physical plant. Respond to fire alarms and assist emergency responders when needed. Education Physical Requirements
