Job Description

Reviews and develops staffing schedules to utilize staff time efficiently and cost effectively. Collaborates with team leaders to develop staffing models and schedules; prepares work time utilization reports in the software to identify cost saving payroll and scheduling opportunities.

Job Responsibility




  • Partners with managers to develop staffing schedules for assigned areas; forecasts staffing needs based on established staffing matrix, fluctuating patient population and patient/staff ratios; reviews census interface and staffing matrixes and adjusts daily staffing accordingly to actual and projected volumes.
  • Identifies daily cost saving opportunities regarding payroll and utilization of overtime; inputs daily scheduling changes based on PTO/Holiday and shift changes for clinical and non-clinical schedules.
  • Reviews employee schedules for accuracy based on job codes, FTEs and other criteria prior to posting.
  • Manages open shifts requests and secures coverage accordingly.
  • Reviews and reconciles timecards for exceptions, reviews overtime and signs off on payroll with management prior to submission deadline to Corporate Payroll.
  • Partners with leadership to ensure accuracy of position control and licenses and certifications are current.
  • Enters nurse care hours, patient days and agency hours into database on quarterly basis.
  • Responsible for off site management of payroll files (seven years); acts as a liaison between assigned departments and Human Resources/Corporate HR Payroll.
  • Operates under limited guidance and work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

Job Qualification




  • Bachelor's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience, required.
