Position Purpose

Stark State College is seeking instructors to teach welding courses.

  • The instruction includes safety, preparation, cutting, and joining similar and dissimilar metals by welding using gas or electrical processes.
  • Oxygen/acetylene and AC/DC electric are the major techniques used.
  • Additional requirements are development of course syllabi, lessons, assignments, tests and the grading of assignments.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Education Summary:

  • College degree preferred.

Experience/Qualifications Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required.

  • Five years' field experience in fabricating and welding required.

  • Good communication and presentation skills required.

  • Experience and/or certification with specialty metals such as aluminum, stainless steel, and titanium are a plus.

Licensure or Certification Requirements:
  • A valid CWI and/or AWS 3G and/or 6G certified.
