Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 AM-5 PM

Location: Onsite - 7677 Center Ave, STE 104 Huntington Beach, CA 92647

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Consistently exhibits behavior and communication skills that demonstrate Optum's commitment to superior customer service, including quality, care and concern with each internal and external customer
  • Manages designated employed provider's surgery work lists
  • Schedules patient surgeries according to department policies
  • Coordinates and schedules pre-operative appointments with patients PCP office
  • Coordinates and schedules pre-operative appointments with surgeon's office, if needed
  • Complete patient surgery letter timely and mail out to patient
  • Ensures patients have approved authorizations prior to surgery date
  • Acts as a liaison between clinicians and hospitals/surgery centers as needed
  • Responsible for closing unused surgery schedules for assigned providers within 10 days of surgery date
  • Coordinates opening/closing schedules with the regional Provider Schedulers and Site Administrators
  • Always Adheres to Universal Precautions
  • Always adheres to safety policies and procedures
  • Uses, protects, and discloses HCP patients' protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards
  • Performs additional duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:



  • High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
  • Beginner level of proficiency in Microsoft office applications (Word, Excel)
  • Beginner level of knowledge of medical terminology
  • Beginner level of proficiency handling multiple telephone calls
  • Beginner level of proficiency with telephone skills and etiquette
  • Beginner level of proficiency with verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to type 25 wpm


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Bilingual - Spanish/English



The salary range for this role is $16.00 to $28.85 per hour based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
