THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Information Technology Generalist Administrator 2, you will be responsible for managing the Account Administration and Security Operations team along with the Data Transfer and Batch Processing teams within the HHSDC. This includes overseeing a highly visible technical and professional staff across multiple agencies, including the Department of Human Services (DHS), Department of Health (DOH), Department of Military Veterans Affairs (DMVA), Department of Drug & Alcohol Programs (DDAP), and Department of Aging (PDA). Through your work, you will ensure the availability, performance, and maintenance of critical data transfer and batch processing services, as well as user account provisioning and access permissions for delivery center staff.


This position is crucial for maintaining the security and efficiency of the Delivery Center's IT infrastructure, requiring a blend of technical skills, administrative acumen, and a commitment to quality and security standards. The role emphasizes the importance of teamwork and customer-focused service, as well as the need to stay updated with IT Service Management and IT Infrastructure Library knowledge to provide excellent services.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, however you will be required to report to the office a minimum of 2 days per week. Telework schedule is subject to change and you may be required to come into the office more frequently. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office located at 2525 North 7th Street, Harrisburg.
    • Although this is a telework position, you will be required to come to the Harrisburg office to pick up your equipment. Other reasons for coming into the office may include changes to the current telework schedule, to attend training, mandatory meetings, or on an ad hoc basis. Your supervisor will give you at least a 24 hour notice and all travel will be at your own expense. Parking is located at the building and is free.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as an Information Technology Generalist Administrator 1, Senior Applications Developer, Database Administrator 1, Data Administrator 1, Information Security Specialist 2, or Network Administrator 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Four years of information technology experience that includes three years of technical information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, network operation or network maintenance, web site development or web site design, database maintenance or database development, data analysis and data model development, administration of information technology security programs, or other information technology support/administration services, and an associate's degree in any information technology field; or
  • Six years of information technology experience that includes three years of technical information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, network operation or network maintenance, web site development or web site design, database maintenance or database development, data analysis and data model development, administration of information technology security programs, or other information technology support/administration services; or
  • Two years of technical information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, network operation or network maintenance, web site development or web site design, database maintenance or database development, data analysis and data model development, administration of information technology security programs, or other information technology support/administration services, and a bachelor's degree in any information technology field; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

  • This particular position also requires three or more years of full-time professional experience providing IT support (e.g. troubleshooting, maintaining, and enhancing secure managed file transfers, batch operations and security operations).
  • This particular position also requires three or more years of full-time professional experience providing IT support with Identity Access Management (IAM).
