*TEKsystems - Monitoring Engineer (SolarWinds) - Hybrid*
We are seeking a highly skilled contractor to support and enhance our Enterprise Monitoring environment, with a primary focus on *SolarWinds*. This role will play a critical part in ensuring the reliability and effectiveness of our monitoring infrastructure. Key Responsibilities: * Design and implement new alerting mechanisms to proactively identify system issues. * Validate the accuracy and functionality of existing monitoring configurations. * Perform routine maintenance, upgrades, and health checks on monitoring systems. * Optimize tool configurations to improve performance, reduce noise, and enhance visibility. * Collaborate with internal teams to ensure monitoring aligns with operational needs. * Support the integration of alert triggers into the ServiceNow Event Management module as a secondary responsibility. Required Skills and Qualifications: * Proven hands-on experience with *SolarWinds*, including setup, configuration, and administration. * Proficiency in creating and fine-tuning alerts, thresholds, and monitoring templates. * Strong understanding of network and system monitoring best practices. * Experience troubleshooting and resolving monitoring gaps, false positives, and missed alerts. * Familiarity with *ServiceNow*, particularly the Event Management module. * Strong problem-solving and documentation skills. * Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams. Preferred Skills: * Experience with scripting for automation and customization (bash, powershell, python) * Exposure to AppDynamics, dashboard creation, and CMDB integration. *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr.
