Budget Manager City of Berkeley, California Annual Salary: $155,768.91 - $208,378.14 DOE/DOQ The City of Berkeley, California, is seeking a strategic, results-oriented Budget Manager to lead its complex, citywide budget process during a critical period of financial and organizational transformation. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the fiscal sustainability and operational effectiveness of a progressive, values-driven municipality. The Budget Manager will supervise a team of four and work cross-functionally with departmental fiscal managers, serving as a key advisor to the City Manager's Office, City Council, and departmental leadership. They will lead development of the City's $728 million budget, provide critical financial guidance for operational and capital decision-making, and drive improvements in the efficiency and transparency of the City's budget process. Priority areas include strategizing long-term solutions to a structural deficit in the City's general fund, advancing financial system modernization, supporting major capital initiatives, and strengthening fiscal accountability through collaborative change management.
