Systems Administrator

VTG is looking for a Systems Administrator in Herndon, VA or Chantilly, VA.

• Install, configure, and maintain servers, operating systems, and software applications.
• Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize resources.
• Apply patches and updates to ensure system security and stability.
• Configure and manage network devices, such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Troubleshoot network connectivety issues and implement solutions.
• Implement and maintain security policies.
• Develop and implement automation scripts to streamline routine tasks.
• use configuration management tools for efficient system management.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards.

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Must have an Active TS/SCI with Poly
• Must have hands-on experience with AWS and Linux in a production environment.
• Experience patching and maintaining system's databases, to include RDS, MySQL, and Oracle
• Proven experience troubleshooting and solving technical problems
• Understanding of secure-cloud configuration, (e.g., CloudTrail, AWS Config), cloud-security technologies (e.g., VPC, Security Groups) and Access Control (IAM).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced agile environment
• Demonstrated on-the-job experience working and solving technical problems independently as a system administrator.
• Experience using a scripting language.
• Demonstrated ability to monitor and troubleshoot enterprise workflow applications, to include: installing, starting, and stopping background processes, analyzing log and event files, and patching and troubleshooting.
• Demonstrated ability creating and managing a virtual infrastructure, such as AWS, Azure, Hyper-V, or VMWare
